Thank you so much! I haven't inline skated in almost 10 years, I used to love it as a child and I was great at it, but all I remembered was how to skate, not to turn or stop correctly. I'm pretty much a shut in teen and well. I love inline skating so I got skates to be more active again, sadly the weather isn't the best, but once the weather gets better again I'm gonna ne skating like there's no tomorrow, only thing being that we don't have a skate park nor big empty areas, so I'll have to find some places close to that. But you just saved me, cause I did not remember how to turn at all!

Great tutorial with brilliant explanation, first time skating with inlines , I must be a little backwards though 😂😂 When I try the turn I can't turn with leading foot, my trailing foot dictates the turn🤣🤣 It works for me but feels alien to try turning with the lead foot.

This is a must tutorial! This will help me to know what I need to be doing/thinking when I have to turn. It will also help to clean up my turning. I’m very happy you showed us the wrong and the right way to turn so that we don’t look like complete beginners. Everyone needs to be thinking about these turning tips. Thank you Brandon. It’s these “little things” that make a huge impact on rollerblading. Oh, btw did that sign say Pikachu @1:45 😂

Hey. I love your video. I started couple weeks ago. I can go fast and stuff but still can’t turn properly. I tend to lift my foot and face it the direction I’m turning or I brake with one foot and use the other foot to turn. I do the exact stances for #2 and I try leaning towards the direction I’m turning but I don’t turn. At all it’s hard😓

How is your weight distribution during the curve? I end up shifting more to the front leg during the curve, but I don't know if it's right. My back leg becomes loosen and draged by the front one. Kind of resemble a power slide but curving.

I used to skate back in the late 90s to mid 2000s but the main way we turned was to t-stop until we were going slow enough then push with our back foot to get the front foot going in the direction we wanted and then push off with the back foot to get speed again.

Hi: I’ve been Inline skating for a year mostly street, I do have Roces 1992 and love them. I also got a pair of Roces M12 because I’ll love to ride bowls as I do with my skateboard. Even having the same skate and brand, I noticed that the turning with my M12’s is very difficult. I’m not running anti rockers and still very different. I am wondering why is so difficult with aggressive skates. Is it the heel inclination or is the sole plate? Any ideas? Thank you!

Brandon, greetings from Sydney, Australia. I have a tricky question, so let me set the scene. Crosssovers... So, in short, I'm right-handed, and when I cross over, it's like I'm a gorgeous black sea creature on blades. I can cross over with my right foot in beautiful balance and control the speed of the cross (slow, fast, or even balance on my left blade and take my time), but when I try to cross over with my left foot, it's disgusting. I have no idea what my right foot is doing, it's rushed, and it looks like I'm about to trip because I'm off balance. Everything is messed up. Please give me some advice. When I try to cross from left to right, my right foot just hangs there and doesn't push, whereas when I cross from right to left, I can feel the foot pushing out to maintain speed as the crossover occurs. It's a complete disaster, and I'm now only "crossing over" on my right side, rather than my left. Thanks Tim
@julianpenfold1638
@julianpenfold1638 3 жыл бұрын
I would start by working on having really solid, stable forward outside edges on both sides. Get some speed up and push and hold the outside edge for as long as possible. Then do the same for inside edges. The crossover is a series of outside and inside edges, alternating. If one side is better than the other, which is quite normal, it may be because one of those edges is weaker than the other. Practice the push part by doing chasses in a circle, making sure you really re-bend to load the weight before each push. Practice being in the crossed over position, perhaps slowly or with the help of a friend or in your shoes or on grass. It's an uncomfortable position and feels like if you fell you'd break your leg - there's a resistance there, which you can slowly overcome by getting used to the position in less challenging situations. This is a good one to watch: kzbin.info/www/bejne/oGjYZ6Cvn9iMf7s&ab_channel=PowerslideInlineskates

newbie here so not sure what im doin but i can turn with reverse staggered position easier than turning with lead foot in front. cant really bend my ankle too much in the lead position stagger maybe i have the top strap too tight. also when i try it feels like my rear leg gets kind of stuck and starts drifting apart in the stance during the turn. but the reverse stagger definitely wrong but seems to turn just fine actually though i can feel the balance being kinda sketchy to say the least but it turns sooooo. also the tip tap is good too bit jank but that also turns.

Hi BladingCoach here. A basic turn in theory doesn't have a leading foot. Try a shoulder distance stance with parallel feet. Extend your arms and pointer fingers at eye level then point and look where you want to go. Then drop arms and turn your head and shoulders.... remember head shoulders knees and toes.

I'm starting to get frustrated because I just CAN'T turn with my left foot forward. From what it feel like, I'm probably putting too much weight on my right foot, but that's mostly because I fractured my left me a couple years back and there's this one part of this that pops in and out of place on occasion even though they said "it'll be gone in a month" It's been 7 YEARS.
