The lens profile is actually more than just focal length, it’s also distortion characteristics. I don’t know exactly how it works but unfortunately you need a specific profile for each lens to get the best results

I record at 60fps with shutter 1/200+. I use the gyroflow plugin in resolve, i press to open gyroflow, than i find my lens on the search bar and then finally i press to use gyroflow on this video and voila. 1)Is this procedure correct? 2)do i need to calibrate my lens or it exists on a database? It's worth mentioning that you're going to lose an awful lot of light by cranking up the shutter. That's the only real drawback with these gyro techniques. So you''ll need fast lenses and lots of light to get a decent exposure. Also, you'll have to add motion blur in post to avoid the Private Ryan shutter angle look. Finally, I'm not sure what benefit this particular software provides over the gyro processing already included in Resolve. Brandon didn't mention that. It would have been good to know. Cheers.

I watched the other video, kzbin.info/www/bejne/foSrgJhjndWNqdE, several times, and still can't find the answer. I haven't seen any slowmo in any of these vids, so I don't think it's that. Also, 60fps doesn't convert to 24 (or 23.978) in any easy way, so I don't know how that would work.
@RoyGregorio Жыл бұрын
@@MechaUsagi It's around 7:19 in that other video. Basically he says faster shutter speed so there's no unwanted motion blur when you stabilize it.
@cppguy16 Жыл бұрын
24fps bakes in a large amount of blur, which is absolutely terrible. The premise of electronic stabilization is that you can't have any significant motion blur in your frames. You also want as high a frame rate as possible, ideally 60fps, for the stabilization to work well. When you're using a gimbal, motion blur is fine, because it happens in the same direction as the camera movement. But when hand holding an action shot, the electronic stabilizer is frequently moving in a different direction than the camera. This causes very unpleasant artifacts. You want as little motion blur baked in as possible. 90 degree shutter angle if you are walking very slowly, but 45 degree if you have any sort of action. You can always add motion blur later, but can't remove it. Also it's easier to convert 60fps into 30fps with a little motion blur added, but if your final target is 24fps, the technology is not there yet. It's super slow and not 100% perfect, full of artifacts, and/or jerky. Sorry, for the most cinematic 24fps 180 degree natural blur footage you still want a gimbal. But for travel vlogs, electronic stabilization might be a good option sometimes.
