I wish the ND filter adapter worked properly. It doesn’t lock down and when you’re trying to use it with a filter - it continually falls off because the adapter doesn’t lock. Will there be a design enhancement coming in the future where an investment in that will have positive ROI? #smallrig #brandonli

Hey one detail- the case and lens plate collect a ton of dust on the lenses. In order to take a photo or video you have to remove the iphone and clean the lenses off and reinsert each and every time. Not convenient.

Thank you! I don’t think you can stack magnetic filters, and they would be unstable anyway. I do my mist/bloom effects in post using Resolve Bloom Effect or Dehancer, and that’s what I would recommend with the iPhone

what is the advantage vs a gimbal? I feel using a gimbal you would have gotten a lot of the shots much easier

Just a different tool! Gimbal requires charging, rebalancing, adjusting settings, has restrictions on angles. But it’s smoother of course. Cage is purely free-form motion.

recently purchased this - it certainly looks more professional, the ND lens can fit alittle better, im not overally confident in just holding a handle as I walk with the camera by my side, 1 outstretched figure and itll knock the side off, however, admittedly hasnt dropped yet. It looks professional for the novice, which is what I needed, in terms of quality, so so - the USB connector isnt really accessible now so plugging in the much needed SSD or a small mic via the USB-C doesnt fit - get a USBC extender - Overall, happy with it, need to get a stronger Tripod now as its much heavier, if you need look like you know your stuff and have lots of people ask you questions about it, as they want it too, then its worth while - Does the footage really differ using it, of course not - that'll be down to black magic app. A solid 8/10 marketing tho, suckered me in. If there was an option to return, I wouldn't as it does what it says it will.

I used SSD for a lot of the shots here, there are 4 shoe mounts on the cage kit. You can add a ssd holder. SmallRig makes a universal one.

Don't know why brand are restricted to iPhones, ig Apple pays more. It happens everywhere, like I wanted to buy a gimbal but the features are very restricted in Android and also the resolution and frame rate. The urge to use gimbal is patiently telling me to switch to iPhone but I hate almost everything in iPhone, in iPhones you do single step process in multiple steps. And also it missed out small things where Android really shines. I wish all the accessories brands weren't bias to iPhones.💔
