Congratulations to the winner of the helmet. Thanks for sharing with us Brandon, I see your OCD kicked in and you just HAD to put those cord hooks on your grinder rack. Excellent job and SO much better. Gonna definitely copy you on this one. Fred. 🙏🏻🙏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👍🏻👍🏻✋🏻✋🏻

Thanks Fred! Yah it's a curse and a blessing at the same time. Every time I looked at it I obsessed that I needed to add the hooks because it looked sloppy with the cords on top. Now I have them under, I'm at peace lol. ✌ have a great weekend buddy!

Great addition to the grinder rack . Now to change out the coat hanger hooks that over time straighten out and the cords end up behind the bench caught on other stuff LOL . Good video, to the point as always not too complicated perfect . I'm going to have to watch\ re-watch before making sparks 🤔 on your other projects now that I have retired. Love them all thanks .

I remember back in the middle 70s they only put short cords about 12 inches long on power tools, it really sucked getting out a 25 foot extension cord to work at the bench.

lol at the OCD... My Daughter has it and claims "It's a Gift". I like the way you were able to change plans when the hooks were too far forward. Can't wait to build mine. I bought your stickers "Why does anyone need more than one Grinder" ... said No Welder Ever. I have 6 myself and I haven't even started welding yet.

@theidahodian4518 thank you so much for your support! I agree with your daughter, it IS a gift....not so much when i was younger and in school though. I easily got bored and lost my attention span so I found myself getting in trouble by not paying attention, being talkative and disruptive. They put me in some advanced classes and that helped keep me interested. I bet your daughter is very detail oriented.

Nice rack! Think I'll build one, however I have a different approach re: the cables. I wrap them. First pass around the arbor, and then round and round the grinder body, sticking the plug through the space between the body and the cable where it first comes on the end. Not tightly mind you. Tidy and doesn't harm the cable.
@BrandonLund3 жыл бұрын
Thats exactly how I stored mine Frank but the thickness of the cord around the body makes it rough getting out of the rack. Maybe if you used 1" wide flatbar instead of what I used but it doesn't work that great with this setup how it is built in this video but I agree that's an awesome way to store your cords

I’m considering painting project work and contracted pieces but leaving shop rack and tables in the black steel, acetone wiped look. What will happen over time without paint? Will it rust?
@BrandonLund3 жыл бұрын
@mike coughlin it will over time. I have a coffee table and end tables I built and left the steel raw. To slow the rust I apply minwax paste furniture polish to the raw metal. It slows the rust but won't prevent it all together

I love and prefer corded power tools but when they design them they should make them to where instead of them having a 8 foot cord or whatever instead just have a electrical plug on every tool and so then you can use one cord for all of your tools. I might chop all of my cords off and redesign them to have electrical connectors. . , most my tools are old or cheap anyways so no feeling guilty about chopping the cords off. Also that way I can choose how long the power tools cord is , I can plug a 8 foot cord in or a 50 foot cord no problem.

hi, i have a small block chevy block with a small problem, i took the block to a machine shop to be cleaned and bored 30 over, as they were removing the rear oil seals, they made a small crack on the block around the seal trying to remove the oil galley plug, i was called and i were told that my block was no good, i got upset and bought my block back home, what im looking for is someone who could weld good and fix my block, can you help me on this block or do you know someone who could weld as good as you that you could recommend me? i live in long beach california, i need your help, thanks, oscar
@BrandonLund3 жыл бұрын
I could definitely weld your block but the price to ship would probably not make it worthwhile. Anyone with any cast iron knowledge can do this. Being from California it should be fairly easy to find a reputable shop that is knowledgeable about cast iron welding. It will likely require machining afterwards and I would recccomend a nickel rod or a specialty rod like Muggy Weld.
