My wife had a NDE during a brain aneurysm. About 6 months after her experience, I read the Heaven is for real book. What I learned is that I, like Colton's dad, kept asking my wife about what Jesus looked like. After learning about the "Prince of Peace" painting, I found it on the internet and put it up on the computer monitor. I asked my wife to come to the room I was in to look at something. When she came into the room and saw the image on the computer she burst into tears. She slowly walked forward and touched the computer monitor with her hands as she wept. It was truly a visceral and very moving experience for both of us. After several minutes, she asked me where I found the picture of Jesus. I told her the back story. It was an experience I'll never forget. Keep your eyes on the prize - Jesus. 🙏

I love retelling my Jesus story. I was in the ICU down in Phoenix around 2011. I woke up in the middle of the night and I saw a great big face. I knew it was Jesus. He didn't say anything, He just smiled real big. I smiled back, then He just faded away. When morning came and nurses and doctors were buzzing around, my husband walked in and I couldn't wait to tell him about Jesus visiting me last night. As I was telling him the story, I realized I could breath and I had no pain. (Broken rib and lacerated liver) is went home shortly after that. When I went back to work on Monday to everyone's astonishment, the HS principal asked me if I ever read the book heaven is for real? I said no and she handed the book to me and told me to look in the center where the author posted pictures from the story. Well hot dang there was a picture in there a girl painted when she returned from heaven. That was the face I saw in the hospital. Ain't God Great!

The artist is Akiane Kramarik. I don't think she went to heaven, but I think she had at least one vision of Jesus and painted Him based on that.

I had an opportunity to know Colton for a short time a few years ago! He went to the Bible school at my church. He worked in my children’s youth group, and he was very involved in all of our Christmas and Easter productions. He was very humble, and a precious man of God. Left out of the story of how Akiane came to paint her image of Jesus is that the painting is of a real person. (You can read the account on her website as well as see the progress of her genius starting as a toddler. Awesome poet too.) This is the vision of Jesus she always had but she wanted a model to work with. She asked God for help. After a time some repairs were needed on their home. The carpenter (believe it or not) hired to do the work was this guy. Akiane explained it all to him but he refused. In his heart I think he felt unworthy. But she (and God) kept at him until he agreed to sit for the paintings. Also, the paintings were lost (stolen and sold). Took years for her to find and finally retrieve them. Prince of Peace is the wallpaper on my computer. I discovered her many years ago. A true God gifted dual genius.

Colton just happened to mention these things, matter of factly, as time went by, over a period of time, after the incident!! Also, yes, Akiane's young life was certainly divinely ordained for a purpose !!!!!!!!!!!! Some one??? left a video camera on their doorstep!!!!!!!! A precious,simple, loving, upbringing!! Asking Him only, by God's grace, I found the book, written by Colton's Dad, in 2nd hand store, after asking, praying, earnestly seeking His Face, desperately for the first time, to see "the image of the invisible GOD in the face of Jesus Christ". This prayer began right after the dreamlike vision I had, at the exact moment when my husband passed away in our home, 6 yrs ago. Jesus was right there with me!!!😢 constantly! I had been caring for him night and day at home. White peaceful light was all around. I was strengthened and gripped strongly and comforted by a STRONG arm around my left shoulder, then was embraced by a tall smiling person in white who was behind me. As I turned to see... everything faded. I saw blue smiling eyes... I have followed Akiane ever since finding her painting in Todd Burpos's amazing book!!!! I had always been fascinated by the amazing story of the shroud of Turin and have an old book, I treasure, about it! Utube is new to me and I know God is using it for HIS GLORY! The shroud is NOT painted. There is noting on the fabric. The picture is made in a way non of all the scientists who studied it could explain. They said it seemed it was made by energy sort of changing the molecules in the fabric. There are videos about this on KZbin you can watch to learn more.

I had the privilege of seeing Jesus in a dream in a movie theater because I love movies. I walked past Him not even realizing at first it was Jesus then when I sat down it hit me like a brick that Jesus was sitting a few seats to my right. I briefly saw Him and I only had the ability to look at His long nose from the left side and immediately thought of the Akiane painting of Jesus. When He appeared to me - walking through the wall - He glowed like He had a lightbulb in His abdomen. I don't remember the color of His eyes for a very good reason - they were shockingly deep as if I could see the depths of eternity through them. So, they were not opaque!. I called Akiane's studio to give my testimony. When I finished telling the man who answered my call he said to me " I've had this same testimony with at least 1000 other people who have called!! " I've been born again now for over 50 yrs - I didn't need to see this picture and yes He can change His appearance but it is so sweet to see the paining of He who I saw so many years ago!!! I think we are to be cautious here. Especially for new believers, know that it is not how He looks, but what He has done for us that matters. Isaiah ch 53 tells us His looks were not going to be something that were remarkable (though I understand our love for Him causes us to wonder) He was despised and rejected for us. We are not filled with wonder because of His looks, but His love and suffering. Please consider the following verses from Peter to those of us who believe yet have not seen- I Peter 1:8,9 "...Whom having not seen you love. Though now you do not see Him, yet believing, you rejoice with joy inexpressible and full of glory, (9)receiving the end of your faith--the salvation of your souls." We will see Him. Yes. Careful not to make an image or icon an object of worship.

I believe a lot of people misinterpret the part of Isaiah 53 where it describes his appearance as if he were unattractive, or even ugly. I don’t believe that is what it means at all! I think a better interpretation would be that he is not more handsome or beautiful in appearance than any other person. In other words, he looks just like us!😊

Perhaps Jesus appears to the person having the near death experience in a way that he knows they expect him to look? However he looked when he was here on earth as a man doesn’t have to be the final way he looked.

I agree with you. As a human man on earth scripture says He was not handsome and did not stand out, so He probably was very average looking to blend in and not be admired for physical looks. Very possibly how the Shroud appears. But when He has appeared to me in dreams He has looked like Jim Caviezel as Jesus, He has looked like The Chosen Jesus, and He has most often looked like my actual brother Joshua (Yeshua, or Jesus). So I think He appears to you in the way that is most relatable to you, but will appear in forms you don't recognize at times, depending on the situation (like the disciples on the road, or even Mary who thought He was a gardener - people who actually knew Him didn'trecognize Him after He was resurrected, so His appearance did and can change).

@@arcguardian you could be right, however you are also making assumptions about the situations as well. None of us really know because we weren't there and it doesn't explicitly tell us in scripture. Even if someone looked common or ordinary if you spent a good amount of time with them you should still recognize them by sight, even if you thought they died. If my brother or friend died (or so I thought) but I suddenly see him around his grave, I would still recognize him, I just might be very confused and think I was seeing a ghost.

When I was a child Jesus appeared to me. He walked through the wall of my attic bedroom. I had never met or seen a Jewish person till I was 21 yrs. I remember picking up a wood curl off the floor of my dad's wood shop floor as he planed wood. I tried to hang the curl off my ear. I'm now nearly 70 yrs old. I have seen hundreds pictures of Jesus in my life. In church about 15 yrs ago my Pastor in church put up Akiane's Prince of Peace. Long story but we finished each other's sentences describing the dream. In 2019 I had a dream and that's the Jesus I saw. I hadn't watched the movie or knew about the painting. What I found mind-blowing is that when I saw the movie The Sound of Freedom with Jim Caviezel after the movie ended and I opened my phone and saw Jesus in my background it triggered me to see a resemblance Jim Caviezel and the painting, and Jim Caviezel played Jesus.

I recently saw one of NDE episodes Coming Home in KZbin Channel. His name is Mike McKinsey. He said that Jesus is not what he thinks when he was a child. He said that Jesus's skin is darker than what he thought and almost like an Arab looking man, wavy brown hair and had dark greenish/blue eyes. That what he described Jesus.

Yes that was an awesome moment. Can you imagine, Jesus posing for her to paint his portrait, amazing isn't even close the what this was. If you don't know, the painting was sold, are ready for this? When I read the comments of one of Akiane's videos, MANY people said they saw JESUS and this was exactly what HE looked like. But then, I've heard many other NDE stories where they describe HIM differently. But it could be like another commenter said (and I was thinking lol), perhaps HE appears to different people in different forms. In fact, I had a dream about JESUS a few years ago, and in the dream HE was very modern-looking, wearing jeans and a t-shirt and HE was clean-shaven with shortish hair. But I KNEW it was HIM!!! Can't wait to see HIM face to face one day :D

When I hear/watch/read about what Jesus could have looked like (and I am a believer in the shroud) I think of a television series several decades ago about a hospital know colloquially as St Elsewhere - a teaching hospital where people not able to get into more prestigious hospitals would go or be sent, ie "elsewhere". I didn't follow the series but I happened to watch one episode where a main character was shot and he was in a limbo state where he saw things he couldn't explain, but eventually is sitting on the side of a body of water. To be honest I can't remember how it got to this point, but for some reason he asked to see God, and suddenly looked beside him, and someone was there. The someone looked exactly like himself, and the doctor said that was not what he was expecting. "God" answered that each of us are made in "His own image" and this would be way all of us would "see" God, - us at our best version of ourselves, our perfect self we could never be on earth - ... until .....

I was wild about the painting when the movie came out and did a lot of research on it. They had me hook line and sinker until I read she said she had trouble finding the right person to use as a model for the painting. That blew it for me. As for the shroud, the image is too vague and could be any Jewish man who was crucified which was a common punishment. I believe we are to focus on his message, not his appearance.

Faith is believing without seeing and we should be loving him and his word and not focus on, what he looks like if you want, you know, he will come to you like he has done with many others and not to mention, there’s been a lot of people who had your death experiences, and they have not said that his eyes were blue. There was another young girl who had a near death experience or whatever I can’t really remember everything but I know she is an artist and she painted him and he had brown eyes at the end of the day what he was here on earth is not the same in heaven when you’re in heaven, you can appear in a child form or a grown-up form however you want and you are able to change your eye color and hair color an age just like the angels they can appear as human or not human form you people are really weird. I’m actually blocking this channel from coming up on my screen so many other things that could be that should be praying for California. Praying for the wars to end to pray more asking people to pray more. Not to mention y’all just trying to get likes and just want somebody to comment. I don’t even care which what type of content y’all put out here and that’s the sad part.

This is interesting. If you compare this to the AI digitally enhanced 3d image from the Shroud of Turin, it is not impossible that they are the same, although the hair is very, very different. The AI shroud image really looks like what one would imagine, more so than the painting. Nobody can know for certain, love, thanks, and praise to Yeshua anyway. 🙏

I have seen our Lord and savior Yeshua Messiah, His eyes are unforgettable. The most beautiful brilliant Brown/hazel/amber honey eyes. Why are people so obsessed with trying to make him blonde and blue eyed? Fair skinned? The only times his eyes are ever blue is when they are a flame of blue holy fire. His skin is not white. Yeshua was born into God’s people He is Jewish, middle eastern. The obsession with making him look white or be white in art, in anything really is eye opening to a convoluted agenda. It shouldn’t matter what He looks like, He died for our sins, He still isn’t white.
