We don't usually notice while within the flow of a battle, but the opponent's intents can be told from their choices. In the last battle, the opponent shielded his lead Azumarill. People usually don't shield Azumarill right on the lead, unless they have a good reason to. That was a clear sign the opponent's backline was weak against Azumarill. If you invested 1 shield, the opponent would likely have thrown his 2nd shield too, to win switch advantage and take your Azu down. Although at the end you likely lost that close battle thanks to Go Battle lag. We learn little by little everyday.

I'd daresay that was a bad matchup. 2 of the opponent's mons were strong against Bastiodon, Jellicent had atleast a neutral coverage on all three, and only Azumarill had some chance of taking out the Gfisk. Not too many options out there.

8:59 I respect u as a amazing PoGo player but I think u could improve as a PvP player. Take this for instance. When Stunfisk swapped out to bring in Jellicent, u should have immediately switched to ur Bastiodon considering Bastiodon has a terrible match up against G Fisk. That way u would have won the switch and could align ur loaded Azu with G Fisk. And then ur Hoopa could align with DD and u could have won the game. Anyways, GGs.
