I just stopped watching a video where the influencer sad she collects Dyson appliances and doesn’t use ordinary hair dryer and appliances anymore. 5 mins into the video I started having panic attack because I have only “ordinarily appliances”. I have always LOVE hourglass! The mass majority doesn’t understand the ambient light powders. The powders are for the last finishing touch (buffing powders) and the Hourglass mineral primer has always been a HG product for me!!! Watch Mel Thompson’s video on buffing technique to understand the Ambient Light powders. Like I said the mass majority doesn’t understand how to use their products like you said not everyone is a MUA. I’ve been in the beauty industry for 13 going on 14 years come December (in real life) not a KZbin influencer. I’ve bought so much crap over the last few months. Hopefully next April-October (prom and bridal sessions) everything I’ve bought will pay for its self plus a hella lot more. I’m honestly soooo sick of the CT pillow talk (trend) come on CT it’s time to come out with a new catch!!! I HATE the pillow talk eye quad. Rebel, The sophisticated, Bella Sophia, the golden goddess, uptown girl, copper charge and green lights. Are you catching my vibe? I haaatteeee the topper shades. I will not buy a palette of hers if it has those damn topper shades. Imo it’s like Colourpops pressed glitters just a bit more refined! AKA a waste! I love her matte lipsticks as well, loose setting powder, Contour Wand, UNI-Sex healthy glow tinted moisturizer, wonder glow face primer, light wonder foundation. My obsessions from CT Hollywood Flawless Filter Eyes to mesmerize cream shadows Light wonder primer and foundations Last but not least her blushes Check to Chic blush duo’s especially the shades Ecstasy, Love Glow, the Climax, and Pillow Talk 2 (it’s more universal for me as a MUA I can use PT2 very lightly to look wonderful on fair-light skin and medium-tan a bit more heavy handed. Most Natashas palettes I really enjoy. NOT all but most. The mini Bloom is beautiful, her face palettes are wonderful. Highlighter perfection! COVID-19 will hopefully just disappear Nov 5th and life will go on back to normal after the election.

Love this. I feel the same about a lot of them and I would add Pat McGrath. I bought a palette and was just underwhelmed and actually returned it! Then I started watching more videos on how people use them and how the formulas should be applied and decided to try again. NOW, I love them and have 3 of the palettes and a running wish list for me. Great video! I really tried to like ColorPop but I’ve learned they are not my jam. I would get sucked in with all the releases and their eye palettes just never worked for me. I love their lippies!! I have also started to really love Charlotte!! I love her flawless face powder and bronzer, amazing!! I tried some lip products from her pillow talk line when she introduced deeper shades but I didn’t love the color or formula. I just picked up a palette and some glosses from her sale and they are amazing. I’m tempted to pick up her no walk of shame cheek product. I understand the frustration with ColourPop. I like their mattes, but their lid shades always crease on my oily lids, even when I use my ride or die eye primer, so it's kinda a brand I wish wouldn't get so much hype, BUT that sunflower palette is all-matte, so I placed my order yesterday. :D

Oh man, I did the not finding my shade thing when highlights first became popular. I'd just buy the shades that looked gorgeous on all the KZbinrs, without realizing I'm so much paler than them. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I 10,000% did that with Tati's shade of the Smashbox Foundation. The world's most full coverage foundation. Literal paint. Which, to be fair, I find incredibly useful for long work depo and trial days (and no other days). Especially when we are in and out of masks. But, even though we have sort of the same level of fairness IRL, we have completely different undertones and she has a habit of cheating her tan with foundation and I CANNOT CANNOT CANNOT pull it off. So either, I look like I am wearing a literal mask and have to blend for 43 hours. Or I mix it. So somehow, through a full bottle of Loreal Lumi Foundation, Half a bottle of Elf Serum Foundation, and a good chunk of some Missha BB cream (also used on my other bad shade matches), I have like 1/3 left. Courtney, you are FAIR NEUTRAL. 2 N in Dior. 2 in Charlotte, Shell in Hourglass (fancy). I don't know my Pat shade off the top of my head, but ALL of my shades are now saved in wishlists in Nordstrom (where foundation actually goes on sale) and Sephora/Ulta (where it does not). Oy. I almost decluttered it, but it was not cheap. So I'm like you are going to learn your lesson and FINISH THIS foundation. I did moderately better with syncro-skin, in that it is 2 shades lighter, but still WRONG undertone. I am DYING to buy foundation. But instead, I'm buying drugstore mixers to finish these two (and already did it with a Tarte and Lancome foundation). No wonder I own so much blush. The year of using up bad shade match foundations is hard enough. But during a pandemic. COME ON. I hate my rules.

Hi Sam, The Sunflower palette looks awesome on you! I think the brands I wrote off the most were: elf or anything from the drugstore. I just thought to get a good product you had to shop high end. That’s what my mom started my sister and I on and I continued to use it through college. Then the drug store products stepped their game up. I now own a lot of elf and Colourpop products. That’s about it for drugstore skincare or makeup. I love the Hourglass powders, very nice for maturing skin or texture. They make my favorite powders. Have a great week! 💚💜💚

I got the Sunrise palette and thought it was just a dud but then bought the Metropolis palette and felt the same. I think I will be giving that brand a miss, but everything does look so pretty.

The big norvina pallets from abh I thought were ugly at first. I bought volume one because it was 50% off Because I thought it would be good to have some purples. Well I have learned to love this pallet so much at the recent Sephora event I bought volume 2. These are my most used pallets now.

I have the Mini Lila.....not a fan. But I have three of the full sized 5 pan and I love them....Camel, Cranberry, and Coral. Didn't you buy the Coral and it arrived broken? Tatcha and I don't get along financially!😁I only have 6 ColourPop palettes, including the Sunflower, which hasn't arrived yet. That's enough for now!😂 How is Aries coming along?❤

I had the same reaction to the ND Lila palette, but I already know I’m sensitive to Ultramarines (an ingredient in a lot of red and purple eyeshadows). If the reds in Modern Renaissance and the Naked Heat/Cherry palette are also a problem for you, it’s probably this ingredient. 😍

I still don’t know how to use the Hourglass powders even though I own a bazillion 🤷🏻‍♀️🤪 also had fails with CT lipsticks. They just all look orange on me, not pink, but I just keep buying them hoping this will be the one !

Have you tried the Tarte Creaseless Concealer? It has maracuja oil and is very pigmented, so a little goes a long way. I set it with a light coat of translucent powder. I usually don’t have to use a highlighter.

This always happens to me right after a brand has had a HUGE sale. Before & during the sale, I’m like oh this is all so overhyped & then AFTER the sale when everything is full price again...that seems to be the time I want to try it and then become obsessed with the products 🤪
