Brandt 1702-6 Automatic Coin Wrapper

Operated a machine like this brand new back in 1977 at a bank I worked for. We would receive change from our toll road in this region 3 times a week. We had the old Brandt machine that just sort it for us and then we take these bags of coins and had a coin wrapper and crimper and wrap coins. I did that for two years. To go from the old machine to the new one was like Wow!! Once it got going then it was like now I got to sort faster to keep it going. Back then there was always more quarters than anything. It was not unusual to deposit in one day $35-50,000.00 in coins. On holidays even more. I was just 18 or 19 yo when I got my training on thoses machines. Im now in my 60's but it was like yesterday. Would love to see one once again.

Wow, I used to work on those machines, I'd tear them down, clean them up, lube, adjust and replace worn parts. You should have shown a close up of the crimpers in action and how the paper is fed in to the coin tube and then spins the coins and paper while the crimpers come down and do their thing, all in less than a couple of seconds. There is a a device called a nervous finger at the bottom of the tube that vibertes the coins and keeps them from stacking sideways. Brandt also made a bigger and faster model called an 1800 that was incredible to watch, it was twice as fast as this 1702.

Do you know of anywhere that shows/explains how these machines work well? I’m trying to make a very basic and rudimentary version to return my coin roll hunting rejects to the bank.

any way i can make a coin wrapper? i have a cheap plastic sorter where i just put in the coins and it just sorts out, but i cant go to the bank to get the wrappers
