This is an awesome jazz set of Branford at Newport in 1987. I'm hearing a huge influence of the great Stanley Turrentine in Branfords sound and style on this song. This performance is so hip, I keep listening over and over. Thank you Branford.

yeah especailly in that first long note crescendo in the beginning of the solo. Funny, not many guys copped Stanley, imo. One of the very best.

Nice instrumental version of this classic; nice to see that Branford did not blow his horn real loud and understood that the song is not about him, but about the song. Beautiful rendition. I wish he would take off the sunglasses; sort of initimidating somehow to have them on.
