Have you heard BMQs rendition of A Love Supreme live, with Tain on drums. It's magnificent, soaring, glorious music, Coltrane himself would be proud

for some strange reason folks hate introducing the drummers but finally they did freaking awesome

Branford Marsalis, je l'ai vu au New Morning en 2009 je crois, avec cette formation..toujours un incroyable musicien..je trouve que les mélodies disparaissent, c'est parfois étouffant...sauf dans les standards..mais bon, je respecte..

so what's the time signature again? cause i couldn't figure it out after listening it for 5 years.
@racieltorres15 жыл бұрын
Paul Gradinaru is in double time: 2 bars in 4/4, 3 bars in 3/4, 1 bar in 6/4 and 4 bars again in 4/4 At the start A in 4/4 and B in 5/4 I have the lead sheet for this tune :)
I was wondering that 20 years ago. The rhythmic changes in the meter add something. Imagine hearing this level of musicianship every night.
@RichieGarrison7 жыл бұрын
I hate to say but Justin Plays this particular tune much better than Tain does on the album.
@fordtruck45127 жыл бұрын
Richie Garrison truth...jus keep in mind,Justin had what Tain did study and add on to...which,he did!! Imagine,if Tain plays it,again,after seeing what Faulk done🤔✊🏿

Tain's Solo's are STILL BETTER THO, but Justin's Groove and comping are really something to be taken aback by. But Tain's Solo is STILL Better!
@Bankai21693 жыл бұрын
@@randomaxe7746 I dont know I kind of like Justin's raw energy on his solo more. Not to take anything away from Tain, just personal perference.
@KermitHitler2 жыл бұрын
Disagree. Tain has that ocean's deep, fecund earthy, rootsy, soul movingly heavy feel that came from Elvin. Justin doesn't have that for me. Both ridiculous, incredible, best of their kind drummers and both sound magnificent in this quartet, but I personally prefer Tain. Again, its just personal preference.
