That would be a sick way of getting characters and an incentive to pull on their banners, because hey you have the base character, but in the quest you played with them at c6 (or whatever) so don’t you waaaant to spend money and get their powered up forms!

​@@tlowgh125 unfortunately I don't think that would work. You'd learn very quickly most characters work perfectly fine at C0 and can be built up to do good damage. Nobody would put in money to pull, plus they'd lose their biggest source of money, the youtubers and collectors ( totally not me) who just want to get all the characters to show them off or have them. If they did that they'd have to lock even more stuff behind money walls because the game just wouldn't be able to support itself if it just gave away a free copy of it's over 50+ characters

Sponsored Genshin videos are just... bad. It's so clear they don't care about it more often than not and are only taking it on for the sponsorship. I was so excited when I saw Jack and Matpat had Genshin videos only to find them incredibly dull, I didn't even finish Jack's. I quickly realized I needed to just stick to watching Genshin centric youtubers like Jeikage, Bran, Doro, and plenty of others as normal gaming KZbinrs don't really care about gacha games. The only one I found who played it and genuinely enjoyed it despite not having done many more videos on it was BijuuMike.

@@FinnManusia Learning Genshin lore takes A LOT of effort, and I'm a long time viewer of all 3 of his main channels (haven't watched his GTLive videos for 3 years), I've watched his videos about his team's workflow, there ain't no way his team has enough time to spare when researching Genshin takes like 100 times the time he spent on FNAF in total on Genshin lore. It would be like his Kirby video again where he just repeats some of the most obvious theories among the community. He can make another surface level video again, at most. Like, I guess pulls in new players, but deeply meaningless for us to watch.

@@lacytaylor1501 have you watched Murderofbirds? To my knowledge, he's among the best genshin KZbinrs that's super invested in genshin lore. I've been watching him doing a in game book, artifacts lore, weapon lore, as well as characters details reading stream. He even uploaded them to his KZbin channel Murderofbirds Impact for his let's play time capsule, even his lore reading stream into a video. The caveat is that his videos aren't up to date with the current patches, and he only recently released his Lantern Rite 2.0 playthrough video to the public on his YT channel. But since his videos is not up to date, his upload schedule has been consistent weekly, with some special days where he released 2-3 genshin videos per week. Go check him out if you're not already. I've watched quite a few story driven genshin content creators, but Bran, Doro, and Murderofbirds is definitely my top three.

Imagine being in her place where blondie dude shows up and you think "here we go, he'll give me my trial, Focalors will come back, crisis will be averted and I will have endured it through the end" ... only for your savior to turn around and (from your perspective) make your 500 years of suffering pointless and kill everyone you tried to save. Honestly, I recommend watching that whole questline a second time after playing through the whole thing. For me, it really hit so much harder the second time around. When she's pleading with the audience saying "you have to believe me", what she means is "you have to believe me or else we're all dead" and she's not allowed to explain why. She tries all sorts of excuses, but at the end of the day, when the judge gives his verdict, all she can do is sit down and accept that all the efforts she put up and everything she endured was for nothing, her people will die cursing her as the fraud she is, and she will live on to bear the weight of her failure.

There's a debate about this before but majority of those who been with anime community for years *Don't even think it's a big problem* This mainly because consumer likely buy merc that popular and trending just like previous years with AOT, MHA, Naruto taking over convention stuff. To be fair, we found out from Furina's character stories that even though she seemed flippant and blasé she actually had knowledgeable points during trials. Her feeling like she had to be all knowing during trials even came to light with her wanting to make sure people still thought of her as the archon. I think it was more dystopian that the people themselves viewed them as entertainment. I DO think that she was keen to get started on a trial with the traveler in some way because she surely thought they would be the one to change things, to bring about that specific promise that "mirror me" told her about, but did they ever outright mention she made a bunch of silly laws for when that came? I don't think she would have known about the traveler until recently. Editing to add: I don't remember the third theory video. One video was a bit outdated because MatPat didn't account for event lore (at the time, Scara and the gnosis were MIA, but you only "knew" that if you played the labyrinth warriors event; technically he did get back with the other harbingers and all but we didn't learn that until we actually got to Sumeru). The mora one with Zhongli is actually really good and highlights (to me) that in his own way, Zhongli is playing 5D chess with the loss of his gnosis causing no new mora to be made.

About the Matpat theories, I know this may seem really harsh and rude, but... I really dislike them. A guilty pleasure of mine is to watch Matpat theories that are incredibly wrong because it's a bit obvious he probably hasn't seen whatever he's covering and then I get to scroll through the comments of the video/short with people who actually have. Genshin is one of them but it's less of a guilty pleasure but more of I want to stab my eyes out. You can kinda tell it was just a sponsor and definitely doesn't play the game and that's fine but then what pops out are really... meh theories. If you want a good genshin sponsored video, Emirichu's is really good.
