Most of us southerners that love our roots love rock as well. I was born in ‘75 my momma love the oldies, Temptations, Supremes, my dad played everything from Pink Floyd to Hank Jr and then I grew up with all that plus hair bands and hip hop. This is why Ryan Upchurch is my go to artist these days. I love his rock songs. I always thought everyone listened to every genre. Crazy that more folks don’t. Different genres for different moods 😂🇺🇸

Brantley Keith Gilbert is an American country music singer, songwriter and record producer from Jefferson, Georgia. He was originally signed to Colt Ford's label, Average Joes Entertainment, where he released Modern Day Prodigal Son and Halfway to Heaven. Gilbert has been very open about his previous struggles with alcohol and opiates, which caused him to get into a devastating car accident and strained his relationship with his now-wife, who left him during the period of his active addiction. OK, OK I know y’all are reacting to country. Five Finger Death Punch is not country, but Brantley Gilbert sings on this song along with Kenny Wayne Shepherd and Brian May, i’ve never professed to be all country at any point in my life. I’m very versatile and basically just love good music. I fell in love with FFDP on their song “Wrong Side of Heaven.” I absolutely love Brantley Gilbert. I thoroughly loved y’all’s reaction to this song “Hell of an Amen.” Brantley has one heck of a history. I admire him a lot! He writes music and does a very good job at it. Love you guys!!! You are very correct in saying that this song means I love rock also. Classic rock is awesome. I love Metalica, AC/DC, Nazareth, especially their song Hair of the Dog, etc. I love any music that is good and not irritating me with constantly screaming not singing the song. Music will speak to and heal your soul if you let it. It will allow you to release pent up emotions and have a cathartic release. There is other music that just wants to incite anger and is a chaotic disturbance to your soul. Thank you both for honest reactions.

@@BourbonCountryReacts Brantley wrote it, I think for Aldean. Brantley's version he performs with Colt Ford and it's a touch on the R&B mixed with rap side. And had some language. But it's good. His best, in my humble opinion is Fall into me.

I’ve always said rock music and country music are connected and have always been. A lot of country songs would make good rock songs with a few tweaks, and vise versa. Not to mention all the rock artists who become country artists. If you like country, you most likely also like rock music, whether that’s classic rock or new stuff. We will always appreciate a good guitar solo 😊

Glad you gave Brantley another chance because he has a Killer voice...and he'll be the first to admit that he does not stick to the "stereotypical Country norms" but he's still a Country Singer, and a damn good one. I guess those of us who grew up in the 70's/80's don't mind a little "punch" in our Country music. Because frankly the "Rock" stuff these days is just a jumble of words thrown into way too over produced music. The some of the harder "pop"?? is good, but it still doesn't compare to the Bon Jovi's, Van Halens and Guns and Roses that we were used to.

Y’all have to listen to the REAL Dirt Road anthem written by him and Colt Ford there’s even a music video of how they made it that is amazing and shows their collaboration. Brantley has said that he appreciates Jason Aldean covering it because it did help him in the long run but Jason Aldean‘s version sucks! I mean absolutely sucks compared to the real song and knowing that they are talking about real people that they know and it’s their own life experiences. and there is even a second version ( Dirt Road Anthem Revisited) where Brantley actually gets his own verse to rap. He also has a lot of videos from his early days where he’s just singing and garages that are amazing. Like many others have said read me my rights and also Bro Code are amazing too. Any Song this man sings is glorious and shows all of his different sides and I would be honored if you would react to more of his music🖤 i’m not even gonna lie the fact that I saw this pop up in my suggestions I subscribed!

Saw Brantley Gilbert at Wetzelland in Ohio. The only "country singer" brave enough to take up with the biker community. It just solidifies my opinion that country isn't the sound, it's the music and the people it connects with.
@BourbonCountryReacts2 жыл бұрын
I don't really consider the biker community particularly intimidating. Especially if you have any understanding of the culture. Though, it's not the crowd where you want to act arrogant or talk sh*t, unless you're willing to take it lethal. Because a lot of them are. - Keith
@misty11072 жыл бұрын
@@BourbonCountryReacts I agree I think most do not understand the community. Chris LeDoux brought the issue up with "This Cowboys Hat." I've always felt at home in the biker community and maybe that's because at the core it's 2 sides of the same coin. Brantley Gilbert was able to bring those 2 societies together in our small corner of Earth.

I have been a Brantley Gilbert fan before he became famous. My email on KZbin is a yahoo, so I have been here since they began. I love almost every kind of music. From old 78rpm to new stuff. Not really into that crap they call rap, or very little of it. I enjoy ballets, symphony, jazz, doowop & so forth. So I am that person that is always looking for good music. I found a video of Brantley in his parents garage doing Dirt Road Anthem. I own every CD he has made. That means 2 that I had to buy the extended version. I have a bad ass stereo in my car & I blast music when I drive. Yeah, some is stuff most haven't heard. I have an odd sense of humor, so I have every CD from a band called Here Comes The Mummies. Because they make me laugh. Yes, I like dirty songs. But, above all, I love good music.

For Rock listen to Rival Sons song "Too Bad". This song by Brantley Gilbert was great. Another incredible song is "Backyard Lullaby" by Demun Jones. That one will surprise you. Demun Jones is a lot like Jelly Roll in many ways. He's an artist who says inconvenient uncomfortable facts (and they all can be). That one is a Rap Country collaboration with Noah Gordon. The Rival Sons song ISN'T country, just something you should listen to as music I think you'd both enjoy. I think Rival Sons is one of the best Rock groups out there (Bad Flower isn't bad either, they're songs and video's are also a level or four above the dreck most pump out pandering to the Rock Gods of old). For Rival Sons I suggest the full set from Kendal Calling 2019. There is even a live performance of Too Bad in it. You can't hide when it's live. ZERO auto tune here. The official video for Too Bad is interesting too (and the vocals are cleaner but I mean the lead singer hadn't sung flat out in a damp environment for however long first into a set so it's expected).
