I'm so glad you did this version - the guitar solo isn't on the studio recording. There are a few more songs from this ACL performance (including, IMO, the best version of Tennessee Whiskey, which he sings with his wife.) Also, speaking of a song with a man dealing with repercussions of his own making, "Nobody To Blame," is just a fun one from him. I second the request for his cover of Metallica's, "Nothing Else Matters," that came out on The Blacklist. It's still country ... Stapleton style ... but more of an outlaw country/country rock. He has another guitar solo on that. "Worry B Gone," is a song about his favorite green smoking plant. And, "Devil Always Made Me Think Twice," are fun upbeat ones, too. :)

Morgane getting Chris to get out front and also to do his songs for himself was a great gift to us. He’s written so many songs for others, including Adele surprisingly. He had terrible stage fright so Morgane is always right there with him. As a songwriter, check out “Daddy Doesn’t Pray Anymore.” They were running late for something and Morgane was tired of him hustling her, so she said to just go do something; maybe write a song. Kay Weathers, I don’t have the answer, but maybe you might. The song “Constant Sorrow,” why not use the original video? I’m sure Home Free and others are good. Thank you!!!
@kayweathers48793 жыл бұрын
@@LadyGator1983 The original song was first recorded in the early 1900's so there is no video for the original however there are quite a few covers of the song including Roy Acuff , Bob Dillon and The Soggy Bottom Boys ( which is just a lip sync). The reason I would like the guys to watch Home Free's version is because this song (along with most of their songs) shows how great an acapella group they are, the vocal percussionist is amazing along with all of the singers. This song is a great place to start with getting to know what Home Free can do as a group. They also do a great version of " When a Man loves a Woman " , and have a song called "moonshine " which I'm sure the guys will like. Is there a reason they shouldn't do Home Free's cover of " Man of Constant Sorrow " ?

@@kayweathers4879 No, I think it’s cool for the home free version. I’m just curious what the guys would think about the movie version of the original release. Chris' playing tends to be low-key, allowing his band to add to his work more effectively. He must be a great collaborator to work with. Think of how a great player like Buddy Guy would have played. There would be more of the guitarist and less of the band, and the guitar would dominate a bit too much for some people, while others who are in it just for the solos would have appreciated it more. That is what makes music interesting; the personality comes through in different approaches. I love this guy.

G'day boys, He chops pretty good ay??,,, there's probably a lot of people out there that could do the same technically, but would they have the same heart?... there's a couple of aussies boys, brothers, named Phil (passed away from an asthma attack May 2018) and Tommy Emmanuel that play guitar, and I reckon they're a bit of alright... Tommy did a video where he was playing Classical Gas, it kinda rips mate... might be worth a look see in your own time coz it's not a country piece but it is fan-friggin-tastic... I'm starting to catch up with all the vids, this one makes #50 in something like 3 or 4 days, so by that rate, I should be caught up by Wednesday... ;))

Hahah, glad you're enjoying the channel. As for Tommy Emmanuel, that dude is a guitar deity. Easily among the top five acoustic players in the world. Especially true since Roy Clark's passing. He's up there with names like Billy Strings and Molly Tuttle. And I'm pretty sure Molly cites Tommy as one of her primary influences. Tommy is just a beast. - Keith
