Be glad he didn't go thru the hell of Special Forces selection where guys die trying to make it thru selection. Then guys like the British SAS who suffer thru selection get chunked out into Iraq 8 men deep and 2 die from hypothermia, 3 get captured, and the results are 4 dead, one escaped, and 3 were taken prisoner. My friend is dead from service with the SAS. Gone. On that note they do more than your serviceman who is "serving their country". They're willing to lose their life for people in third world countries so they can have a better life. How many people ya know are willing to die so people in some shithole country get some peace. Not many, not many at all. Lemmie tell you, they tell the stories so people who knew them think of how much they probably suffered.

Brantley Gilbert, you might think you aren’t much of a musician but I have to tell you that I found this stripped down version even more powerful and moving than the original release which I thought was amazing! I sleep with it every night (if I sleep at all) sometimes it's just easier to stay awake, but I Wouldnt change any of it and I would do it all over again in a minute to protect the people and the country I love so much and I'm thankful for the Honor and the privilege to have been allowed to serve.

Yet another reason I LOVE Brantley! He has one of the biggest hearts in popular music of any genre today! Too many men and woman fight and die for a fight I truly believe isn’t ours to fight. Yes I know even those who fight will disagree with that statement, but I don’t apologize for what I believe, nor would anyone have to apologize for a son, daughter, wife, husband, dad, mom, brother or sister for why their loved ones won’t be coming home alive!!! And the last time they told them goodbye WAS the last time!!! God bless each and every one of your lives! I can’t fight in combat for man reasons, involving health but I can go to a war of sorts, that’s a war with the evil that creates war and strife! Prayer is more mighty than even the most well trained soldiers because, GOD our LORD is the one granting the answers to those prayers! Power in prayer and power in the blood of Jesus Christ who died for each of our sins! No not just this one or that one or this persons or that persons! ALL! HE DIED FOR ALL! I better stop before I get myself in trouble lol love yall! Candie

First time I heard this song was when you performed it live in Oklahoma, back in 2016. Six years after my mother passed, after a long battle with breast cancer, and after I had finished boot camp/SOI for the Marine Corps. Looked at my sister (who bought the tickets for my birthday) and ‘bout broke, right next to the stage. Fast forward a few years, when you came to Riverwind Casino (2024), and as I’m belting out the lyrics, I noticed a gentleman who had recently laid one of his own parents to rest, and held this man up, as he broke in my arms. Your music truly carries more weight than you know, sir. Many thanks, from this Jarheaded Cowboy, and many others who rely on music for their means to express themselves. Keep up the amazing work.
