WARNING! FLASHING VISUALS!! DO NOT LICK THE SCREEN!!!
ALSO, NOT MY MUSIC!!! I present this creation to pay homage and help spread it to new audiences, but the artist no longer seems to be active. I make no claim, implied or implicit, that this is my music, for it is not and never will be. KZbin did not figure it out like it often will automatically, please don't hurt me. I made this in love.

So, what the heck is this? It is Freaky Chakra, an act from San Francisco of decades back. It is one of my favorite albums, and unique among all of my albums in a particular way: I used it to learn to meditate, specifically to teach myself better breathing...which leads up to this project I just labored over lovingly.
A long, long time ago, in a land possibly nearby, there was a software called Cthugha, Cthugha95, Cthugha98, Cthugha3D...several version of the same things, some of which I got to work for me. It was a visualizer that allowed you to run anything through it via line-in...so I hooked it up to my sound board, cuz heck yeah-- and all this before we were running audio through computers in general, see. No DAWs, still tape, though we'd progressed to digital tape and hard disk mixing was available on the shelf for the biggies...but Cthugha stood alone, to me. It was wild. Not only could I hit keys on a synthesizer and immediately have visual feedback, it instilled in me an ability to always see audio in those ways.
Cthugha had minimal settings, but you could operate them in real-time. Several presets, each with ranges you could adjust to make yourself happy, as well as color stuff to do. Some of that was so much fun, I'd sit up all night playing albums through it. One in particular, possibly even the very first one, stuck in my head-- this one. This one I just did as videos. Maybe you guessed. I remember it very well (*I think*) in Cthugha. What I did here was take some of those presets from memory and rebuild them in DaVinci Resolve and kdenlive, bringing several that I could only switch between into the frame at once. I created a playground for this music in particular to be similar to how I used to play with it in Cthugha...and then gave each track exact attention within that playground. But why?
As I said, this album helped me learn meditation and breathing exercises. If you are not into such things, don't do this:
Synch your breaths to the beat, from the beginning to the end, and you will go places you might not even know exist. The first two tracks (which make one big one) are a bit of a rough ride if you are not used to breathing at that pace, so I repeat, this is not for the initiate so much as the acolyte and beyond. The visuals are there for the fun of it, but the music is key here in what I am saying. The third track will give you the pause you earned, then you can pick the pace back up slower and throughout the album.
When I used to do this, I would have visualizations inside much like these Cthugha-like patterns I've lovingly crafted. Frankly, I don't need to meditate often after years of 'practice'-- but I found my center, so you do you. And never let it go if you do find it, hello. This is not an endorsement of Kundalini anything, though there's obvious reference to it in the videos...again, you do you. I'm just sharing some of me.
And this glorious music! Seriously, it's hard trance to the point where the drums may as well be Front 242 during parts...which I love. Plus, if you do the breathing and have good bass surrounding you, it will tickle in ways you did not expect, betcha. And if not into the breathing stuff, hey, maybe enjoy it anyway. It's great to dance to as well....
More coming! I intend to visualize a lot of different things and my skills have grown tremendously this year, so why not get to it? That said, I'm open if anyone wants to commission a video for their song. I can meet most any budget and give you something far more memorable than the nothing you must already have-- and it's yours, at that point. Hit me up for terms if interested. I'll just keep making examples in the meantime.
