There are many victims of child abuse who would have struggled to find any humour in the subject, I don't think it's unreasonable to insist there should have been adequate warning beforehand, they did not say that any of the actual content should have been censored. Massive fan of Brass Eye but this was the one time it wasn't hard to see what all the fuss was about. Chris Morris has even said if you didn't find some part of it offensive there's probably something wrong with you.

The really disappointing thing is that the media don't seem to have learnt anything from the experience.

@@DarkAngel2512 Thu, Sep 6, 2001, 01:00 The Independent Television Commission (ITC) today demanded that Channel 4 broadcast an apology over its controversial spoof paedophile documentary Brass Eye. The television regulator ruled the programme, which sparked a flood of complaints when it was shown in July, had breached its code in two areas. In a statement issued today in response to the complaints, the ITC accepted Channel 4 had failed to give adequate warnings about the nature of the programme and ruled that not enough care had been taken to avoid causing "gratuitous offence" to the viewer. The ITC decided an appropriate course of action would be to take the rare step of asking Channel 4 to broadcast an apology, the details of which are yet to be finalised.
