Honestly I’m surprised no one told him about the ending. In 2009, crown placed 2nd to Blue Devils. After the whole reprise of the opening, rewind, and hit again, they go into the literal closer from 2009’s show. Brass hit is the same, I’m not sure about anything percussion wise but I’m sure it’s the same, and the flag choreography is the same as well. They brought back the blonde guard guy with the chartreuse costuming (one of the guard members featured for 2009’s show) and then he runs with the soloist female from 2010. What a moment. Also RIP to Ryan’s leg at finals but like.. what a ten.

Love these videos cause it's just shines such a good light on Drum Corp, showing their versatility, and elegant side past the BRASS FLEX we all love so much. If he hasn't already I feel like he also needs to watch 2012's For The Common Good from Carolina Crown. A much more orchestral script that needs more love and appreciation

Cool. Subscribed. - I was at this show in Indy 2010 , sitting in the stands on the side where the brass guy got hurt. It was a bit of a fiasco when a DCI helper guy ( not in shape) tried to run out on the field, tripped on a cone, sprained his ankle, and limped off. It might be awhile until DCI returns to pre-Covid performance levels- if you haven't already- may want to check out Santa Clara's 2018 Babylon performance- percussion is super amazing but the entire show, to me, is close to the pinnacle of the activity. Happy holidays...

The piece you were looking for is Nimrod from Enigma Variations. I just had to conduct it for my final in conducting class at my university. Also had it in one of my high school’s marching shows. You should watch a Blue Stars show at some point for a video. I am going to submit my favorites on your website. I feel like they are a very underrated corps. Though I am a bit biased as a contracted member for 2020/2021.

I saw this show in person earlier in the season and it absolutely blew me away. If you enjoyed it, start working backwards through Crown's shows. They had an absolutely amazing run of designs leading up to this show and through their championship run in 2013. 2009 (The Grass Is Always Greener) and 2008 (Finis) were also standouts.

2010, a brass player in Carolina Crown broke his leg during finals on the field... I had a colleague who had his dot right next to him when it happened, and I heard he was screaming, "NO I NEED TO FINISH THIS SEASON!" as he was crying and screaming through his pain... It was one of the most heart wrenching things I'd ever heard. And then in 2011, he returned and finished his season.
