Interesting fact about the high brass feature after the ethereal exhaust pipe feature... the entire hornline is playing on high brass instruments, including tubas. That was impressive on its own because to go from that low of a range to suddenly having to play an entirely different instrument opposite of what you usually play was astounding

One thing you might not know from the first clip is during the show after the metallic percussion feature all of the brass is on either trumpets or mellophones so the tubas and baritones had to learn trumpet or mellophone for that feature. Pretty amazing that they were able to put that together.

fun fact: Carolina Crown loves B♭Major/g minor scales. For example, Inferno(2015), E=mc²(2013), Out of this world(2014), Relentless (2016), It Is (2017). all in those keys for the good majority.

Arrangers have a thing. Listen to Bluecoats from the past 10 years. Since Metropolis, there's been musical development around a certain sound that came to a head in Tilt. Same with most of the world class corps. There's a set sound concept that comes through in every arrangement to highlight the features in their brass line they focus.

Thanks for checking out Crown! I think this is one of the best all-around shows in terms of brass, percussion, guard, as well as visual. Really crazy to think that this show got 5th (one of the strongest years in DCI as of late). It also has my favorite moment ever starting at 8:28 when all of the hornline hops on either a trumpet or a mello and then just tears the roof down. Would totally recommend making it to a show in 2021! Crown in person is even better than Crown on video.

Good folks. I’ll tell you though, marching on a field, you barely can hear the crowd cheering. You are just so gassed after every production. You just hear the final applause. Lol.

Hi, Adam Tan! I know this that my question is horrifically unrelated to this video, but I wanted the best chance for you to see this. Recently my band director asked everyone in my front ensemble to work on a solo for school. Sadly the only marimba I have access to is a 4.0 octave marimba. My question for you (because I really wanted to work on one of your solos..) is whether or not any of your pieces could be played on a 4.0 octave so I know which one to purchase. I also want to say that your channel is a big reason I play marimba and I love the content! If you’re able to go out of your way to answer my question, that’d be lovely. But if not, that’s ok too. Thank you !

Oh my God this is infuriating to try to watch. If the would shut up and turn his microphone down and the performance up. Why host a channel like this if your not going to let people watch the content. Some interjection is fine but I don't think anyone wants to hear your voice droning on all the way through. I was excited to find this channel until the show started. Why would or how could you title this video saying the brass section sounds incredible when we can't barely hear it, well, we cant, at least the host can. All we hear is your voice at twice the volume of what we came here to see on the hosts advise. Video is a disappointment.😊

OK so how are you know a couple of basic rules. Rule one field judges are not allowed to disturb or to interfere with the performance by being in a performers away which gives the performer and opportunity for judges in their next spot to let him know or else he’ll get hurt. Now depending on how large the group is these could vary. Number two all shows a judge that certain criteria musicality visual effects or general effect and then the individual groups of each group. There’s awards for high brass, colorguard, percussion, musicality. Back in the day when I March I had a lucky chance to march in two out of the four sections which is contra and colorguard. So when I like to introduce people to jump car I showed him one or two of my favorite shows. The first one I recommend would be cadets 2011 show angels versus demons and Well if you want to see some crazy visuals watch cavaliers extraordinary the percussion section will blow your mind. Now If you feel like watching the the nations most talented marching bands are performers, you need to check out BOA grand national championship these are all high schools with some of the highest standards of performance a group effort at Sobo mazing shows and crazy props trust me you will not be this appointed.

29:46 If you want to get a little more of an idea of how the battery's music fits in the whole show, you should take a look at LearnTheBeats or VicFirthMarching videos. They have videos of the drumline playing with the sheet music of what they are playing. Lots of these videos are taken from In the Lot performances or also include the pit(with sheet music for them sometimes, as well). Very occasionally they have full shows, or you essentially have enough footage to get an idea of the whole show, which is super cool!

Oh yeah forgot to mention one of the thing so as you watch the colorguard every single member is able to spin the primary military pieces of equipment. Which is the foundation of marching band programs it is the flag which represents the groups colors well in today’s performances it helps at the mood. The saber which represents the fence and honor. Which most of the time our blunt at predominantly either white or silver metal but that doesn’t mean custom-made have been made to fit the show. And the last one is rifle which is kind of in balance so we have to rebalance it in order for spin properly as we do with all of our equipment and less kill which is a recent ad on is dance and the ability to separate the top and lower half so were the one moving to done at the same time.
