No, Nancy Kerrigan and Debi Thomas will always win that title.

Their costume designer should have been sent to prison for 20 years

this alone cost them the gold that year.

Putting shoulder pads that huge on Lloyd was a war crime.

Ghastly edges, lines and speed. Great lifts.

Brasseur is probably the worst skater to ever be a world champion.

What a horrible thing to say about Isabelle. She earned that World Championship like everyone else. And she earned a bronze in Lillehammer with a clean program.
@GetBenched2010 Жыл бұрын
@@ravenel2 Everyone that says that about her needs to name one skater in the world who would have had the guts to do those death defying lifts. Evel Knievel would have said "hell no" to most of those stunts. When pressed, nobody can name one.

I looked at this performance. The lifts, the twists were amazing but the jumps not good. Lucky to be third.

Bad enough that the costumes are horrid, but choosing white is ridiculous! They blend in with the ice & sideboards practically disappearing!

G & G did all white at the worlds a year or so before.

I think this pair was one of th4e models for the Chinese pairs skating program. I am referring to their lateral twist lift, change of position death spiral and general athleticism. This team was a decade or more ahead of it's time.

They are so athletic, fast and powerful. Too bad about the jumps.

You could sense the disappointment. Fortunately on tv Lloyd blocked out Isabelle on the final jumps because it looked like she was struggling on even little hops and doubles.

Point taken. As Scott said before they skated, if they were to win, they would have to have done it with the technical mark. As in, 5.9s straight across. I still have a hard time thinking those marks would have made up the ground they conceded on the artistic mark, but it may have been closer than I originally thought.

How disappointing for them. I'm not sure they would have been able to beat M & D even with a perfect program because their artistry is no match to M & D, but they definitely could have beaten Bechke and Petrov. With the mistakes they had, I think they were lucky to stay in third. K & D had mistakes, too, but the program as a whole was more solid, IMHO.

K & N you mean? I respectfully disagree. I think B & E's second marks were too high. That was always a weakness for them and with two falls and a flat sloppy program, I would not have placed them above the Czechs. K&N had a beautiful program that was better skated IMHO and though their first marks would have been lower, I think the artistic marks should have pushed them to the bronze.

Knock out theory, this team was 2nd at the 1990 Worlds (behind Gordeeva & Grinkov and over Miskutienok & Dmitriev) and 2nd at the 1991 Worlds. They were very close to winning both those Worlds too. Kovarikova & Novotny were a lowly 8th and 6th at those same 2 worlds. They had not even medaled at Europeans yet, finishing 4th behind Shishkova & Naumov in both 91 and 92. They werent going to push a WAY higher stature and reputation team like Brasseur & Eisler off the podium unless they really delivered the knockout blow and left no doubt. And since they also had some mistakes they clearly didnt do that.

@@morlavader5454 You can make a very strong case that this respect medal cost B&E gold in 1994 as they outclassed G&G, (who had nothing to prove and had a lucrative pro career and took no unnecessary risks,) and pretty much everyone else, (Brasseur FINALLY landing out of the twist clean for the only time in her career while skating with broken ribs.) Yet finishing a very disappointing 3rd. You can argue that they didn't deserve to medal in 1992 but deserved gold in 1994.

Never been impressed with their choreography. Horrid costume and music.
