TLR VIR II seems like a pretty awesome solution for a pistol at pistol ranges (where flood is a good thing), but shows its limitations quickly when you try to push it past that use case. It's probably really handy for most real-world uses (i.e. flat range larping at 25 yards and chasing off trash pandas at 2am), but maybe not as handy as a PEQ15 alternative on your primary fighting rifle.

There is a TLR VIR 2 shroud from code 4 defense for running it on something besides a pistol. I have a TLR VIR 2 on my glonk but it would be better suited on something with a solid rail as Glocks have some flex in different temps, or if your grip is really tight.

I marked my VIR2 cross bolt head with thin paint lines. I removed it, and remounted it to that same tension point. Loss of zero was not noticeable at 25yds with my AR9. Im sure at longer range it’d show, but its eye-box accurate inside of 25yds. The Code4 Defense spill reducer is great for the money and has the added benefit of guarding the function switch. Great video.

FINALLY someone covers Z-Bolt. I own two DBALs but my main rifle has an LS117 and Zbolt IR/malkoff setup and when i shoot with others it either blows theirs out of the water or goes toe to toe with much more expensive devices. Love that thing. Really the only downside is the Unity switch needed to run it. Also note that Zbolt is releasing their own full VCSEL LAM modeled a bit like a MAWL, msrp $1500. Holding high hopes for that.

Never seen an lsm3 go down. I got a few buddies that have them on rental guns and they have been absolutely abused. I just ordered a lsm6r or whatever the gen 2 with the crane plug. I’m sure it will be fine I had an lsm3 for about 18 months with zero issues

As much as I miss owning nods I just didn't train with it enough to use nods, of my ir devices. I had a nice pvs7d with a three clean ass gen 3 mx10130 image intensifiers, I had a surefire km1d IR/white light vampire light bezel on a good arisaka body and surefire tailcap, I had a nice holosun le117 green vis/ir aiming laser module I had a eotech exps3 with nv mode and a good quality set of Zenitco on my AK74 i got rid of it all and I regret it, but I only really shot once or twice a month with that stuff at night and mainly went on night walks with my nods on and realized it was just useless stuff for me.

I don’t know why the Arisaka IR250 is so overlooked. It's all the performance of a good (albeit non-focus) illuminator with the convenience of a standard Surefire Scout body. Pair it with whatever LAM you want and a dual switch and you're golden for IR use. If you REALLY need white light on your night gun as well for whatever reason, there's the Surefire Micro that's basically non-existent on the front end of a gun in terms of weight and size.

Laserspeed m6 gen 2, full power, around 1k. Our store sells them for $800. The gen 2 fixed all the quirks of the gen 1, better performance then a peq 15. Waterproof, rated for 50bmg, crane plug, smallish and lightweight. I bought a ls321 first, homogear ngal second, then the gen 1 m6. I wish never bought the first 2 with the gen2 m6 out now.

I shoot a lot under night vision. I have to LA5 clones on my HK MR556 and on my Scar 17. I couldn't ask for them to perform any better. I haven't tested how water proof they are nor exposed them to extreme temperatures but they both hold zero, dont flicker, return to zero when I take them off and place them back onto the rifles. The only issue I had was the post diffuser coming off one of the units that sits on the HK.

My gl4 fp is decent at 600 yd ir laser performance. The green laser is sick. White light of 400 lumens is very poor, but it is something. The ir light is good to 125 yds or so. Great for pcc. 3eir dirv is my next purchase.

I really like the Z-Bolt Blazer LED Infrared Illuminator Light Head if you just want a illuminator it fits on surefire light bodies and has a adjustable dial that can adjust from 4 to 25 degrees. Just the head alone is 228$ so its worth it to just buy the whole kit for 388$. Just make sure you know which switch is IR and which one is white light when your out running NV with your friends.

Can confirm X400V is good (enough) for 1 particular platform: nightvision capable shotgun. More specifically a Demonstrated Concepts “trash cannon”aka birdshead grip / stockless shotgun that needs a front handstop, which the X400V works well as with its relatively flat rear end.

I emailed the owner of 3eir about the Vulcan head because I was really hoping to get one. He said there was some issues with return to zero when changing batteries. My guess is that they couldn’t get that issue sorted. I currently run a laserspeed m6 crane port. It ran me 1k and it’s super capable. D2 performance with 1/2 the size.

Are you on Finasteride for your hair yet? If not, you should seriously consider getting on it as well as a topical minoxidil. I hadn’t watched your vids in a while and when I recently started watching again I’ve noticed the thinning in the front. Those products will help a lot, they were a God send for me. I would suggest a b vitamin or better yet a multivitamin along with a collagen supplement and your hair stack is complete. You have dedicated your life to preparing us for the fight, now I’m just returning the favor in the fight against the inevitable, male pattern baldness. Bro I BEEN saying fuck these lasers, why do we not just use dots with vampire lights to kick the weight off the guns, have consistent zeroes, and keep the muscle memory of how we shoot otherwise?? Civilian modules suck , are expensive, are heavy, and it’s a different method of shooting than how we primarily train using an optic. The innovation in the firearms community should be going toward creating a vampire light with a good white light output and not compromising anything by integrating a laser.
