I rode up Brasstown Bald on the same day you posted this. I saw that you are #1 on Strava whereas I slotted in somewhere slightly over #1000. Your 1st video about North Georgia inspired me to give it a try since I live within sight of the mountain and I had not ridden up it in years. Thanks for the inspiration!

Some great (and painful) memories coming back watching this. Have been in Rockies for past 20+ years but really cut my cycling teeth, both recreationally and racing, in the SE U.S. back in 90s/early 00s. Miss a lot of those great climbs. N. Georgia, Highlands/Cashiers area in SW NC and all along the spine of the lower Appalachian Mnts. Trees, thick undergrowth, fog, punchy climbs, moss covered rocky outcroppings... made for some amazing rides. Thanks for the post. 😎🤜🏻🤛🏻

Modern gear ratios allows weekend warriors to climb it these days. Pre-EPO ppl would show up with 42x21 or 23. Seems silly now of course. Even in early Lance days 39x23 was considered a granny gear. Nice channel Phil

Phil, as always, great KOM dorkery! But, comparing to the intro music, which is like 5W/kg, your background music while grinding up those KOMs is way too chill! Drop some nice tunes on that so we can enjoy even more, while being lazy at the same time. :) Cheers, R.

@edojacob74934 жыл бұрын
@@bluemystic7501 at that level and price all bikes are the same, especially if we're talking climbing bikes which are needed to be light and super stiff while aerodynamics (that is where brands are spending real money in ReD to innovate) is not as important. Yes, there might be some slight difference from one bike to another but it's marginal.
@bluemystic75014 жыл бұрын
@@edojacob7493 I agree with what you said but am I wrong in my observation? Sometimes a bike just works for the rider. There is an interesting podcast about frame stiffness and sort of syncing with your bike. I don't know, maybe I'm reading too much into it.
