The fact that older teenage girls are buying Bratz dolls is nice, bc as a teen girl today, most girls as young as 9 are like into makeup and skincare and no playing with dolls or whatever, it’s probably seen as immature or babyish now. I’m 13 and have so many Bratz dolls bc I enjoy collecting them. We don’t have to be acting older than we are. Be a kid!

Today they’re not being sold that much on shelves. 2010-2018 was kinda rocky for Bratz, however 2020-now they’ve been able to rebrand themselves to a slightly more adult audience. I’ve seen them collaborate with designer brands (like Mowalola and GCDS) for only special edition versions. They’ve been blowing up on social media (mainly tiktok and Instagram) with their CGI content referencing pop culture moments in fashion and film. I think them targeting a slightly older demographic fits Bratz really well.

Bratz had big lips, and dark skin. That’s how many women of colour looked. The little girls buying these dolls had women in their lives that looked like these dolls. The random white mother getting uncomfortable with the size of their bodies and lips were only showing their ignorance!!
