Brave Fencer Musashi will forever be one of my favorite games of all-time. It just kinda showed up for sale at EB Games one day and since it had Squaresoft on it I instantly bought it and have been in love with it ever since. I’ve never understood why they haven’t re-released in some form to make it more accessible. Not having to hook my PS3 up to play it was one of the primary reasons I purchased a Vita (I was very disappointed). I know it has problems, but it’s still miles above most other games at the time and it tried stuff that wouldn’t be done again for years. It deserves to be up there with the likes of Parasite Eve, Fear Effect, etc. as one of the most underrated games of it’s generation.

Talk about a forgotten title! This was one game I literally tried every way to play out. Such deep game play, and even the witty storytelling is excellent!

The over the top and ridiculous voice acting was one of a kind. I faintly say I doubt we will hear a VA job like this ever again.

Yes!! While FF7 was my first JRPG, too (albeit dethroned twice over as FFT and Hades came into my life), I've always had a super soft spot for Musashi. Thank you for not forgetting about this charming game.

Man, when I was a kid this was my "Ocarina of Time," so to speak. It took me forever to get through steamwood and that minecart section, and I was stuck on the Vambee chapter for longer than I'd like to admit. I've replayed the game many times, though, and it's honestly my favorite game of all time. I love Ocarina, but Musashi is just such a charming gem of a game. Deciding whether or not to spend my hard earned money on healing gels or a new action figure to open and play with in my room is just something you don't see in a game very often, and it made the game so much better. If this game ever releases with a remaster or remake, I'd get it before a heartbeat.

Love this one! My brother and I called it Brave Fencer Darryl Musashi, because we had recently seen the X Files episode "FPS" before first playing this.

Hell yeah! I replayed Brave Fencer Musashi a few years ago on a hacked PSP (it unfortunately didn’t run all that well, not being an official release and all), and I had a blast, that game is so fun to revisit. It’s feel-good entertainment with great music, great gameplay and overall just a memorable experience. Those toys! It all makes me feel like a kid again! Samurai Legend Musashi, as a spiritual successor unfortunately wasn’t able to hit the same notes, I’m not quite sure why. I don’t even think Brave Fencer Musashi needs a remaster either, it’s charming as it is, it just needs to be accessible, period.

Brave Fencer Musashi is my favorite game. The only contender for that title would be FFT, both fantastic PS1 classics. I've beaten Musashi over and over and over, listened to the full OST for hours and hours and hours. And I will never stop. This game deserves to be seen, yes the voice acting is well... late 90's voice acting but it's an incredible time

A game that used a similar graphical style was Guardian’s Crusade, a PS1 turn-based JRPG with monster collecting. It was ok, but super charming. You should check it out.

Guardian’s Crusade is a game I always wanted to play, but never got around to. I remember reading about it in Gamepro back when it came out and thinking it looked super fun. I downloaded a ROM of it so it’s definitely going on my backlog

@@TJTheEmperorit’s OK, I guess, but not quite the same…. Something about Musashi wielding two swords (YES!): Fusion (hell yeah!) and the Great Oar (wait, whaaaaat?), and mission-based story… *sigh*….
