Interesting... The biggest issue historically was always those Scots who's greed & lack of loyalty to Scotland resulted in taking up the union... Also they weren't fighting for independence, they were fighting to maintain independence. Despite being hugely out numbered & Scottish turncoats resulted in "surrender" to English, ironic as Romans & Vikings & Saxones would never be able 100% control Scotland in its entirety, of which England couldn't manage themselves.

He can't reprise his role as Wallace since he died in the first movie. To bring Wallace back would not only be an error of continuity, it would also be a death sentence for the second movie.
