this boss is a joke, I keep getting him down to 11-12,000 HP then he does the energy burst and wipes out all my party

At first this boss was annoying for me (on hard mode, his energy wave did 1900-2400 to my party with default, and unfortunately, the only really tanky character I was using was my white mage who had a good armor and a demon shield). This was at level 50 too. But by using Giant's Draft (Beast Liver + Dragon Fang) on my entire party to double their max hp, they were able to survive Energy Burst, and Edea's High Jump as a Valkyrie with Thundara from the spell fencer class was able to consistently do 9999 to Chaugmar. And by timing High Jump, she was always able to avoid Energy Burst as well. The salve maker is definitely an awesome class

After grinding to lvl 48 and 49 I beat this thing in one turn after guarding until it transformed.

while hes in the shell use items like zeus wrath for 500+ damage it brings it eventually around 15000 HP when my characters die but i just need to up their levels

T^T I'm lvl 35 now lvl 9 jobs Healer+salve-maker, Black Mage, Spell-fencer+Knight and Ranger+salve-maker and he STILL beats me at his first Energy burst -_-UUUU. It's really annoying and I don't know what more can I do. I've tried upgrading the equipment and improving their "Agilityt" and "Defense" but....NOOOTHING.

I just beat this dude with a party of 37s, basically u wanna default and keep defenses up and make sure you default and are fully healed when he uses the f you laser, then attack and heal after the blast until he shields again

I reached this boss yesterday. Having trouble. Roughly what level should everyone be at ideally? My team are currently at Level 42 and that energy blast attack is wiping them all out in one hit. Here are the jobs I am using. Tiz: Black Mage/Time Mage Agnes: Performer/White Mage Edea: Valkyrie/Spell Fencer Ringabel: Pirate/Thief I know what it's weakness is, it's just a matter of being able to withstand it's attacks. Also the fact that it can steal MP doesn't help either as I don't have any Ethers.

Still can't beat this boss ... i'm lvl 40 right now on all characters. When he does his energy drain, 3 party members die, and right after that he instantly kills Anges aswell... i've managed to get him down to 75% one time with a little luck but that's it. Is there some way to take less damagr from the energy drain that the boss does?

This boss fight is easy once you figure out his pattern i haven't messed around with the salve maker yet sounds over powered.

Well this boss was pretty hard for me and it took 6 trys to beat him but my last try I killed him as soon as he dropped his shield. I did this with 2 performers and thief based on critical damage and speed and I use godspeed which ignores his sheild. I can at the moment pull off two godspeeds with 3 bp that crit for 9999 each with his sheild up. My guys are level 43 and I have yet to use a special move seems like I need look more into that

build a knight with sub ability spell blade level 4 with the double handed ability from the knight class. also have a merchant with pay to play ready. so now first turn instead of defaulting. use blade magic thundaga next turn X4 brave and activate your special move with the knight and the rest of the 3 moves invest in stomp. heres the awesome part make sure ur merchant is faster then your knight and use pay to play that will boost your Special to 400% crit + thunder damage X2 because of double handed on top of that. its pretty beast

This boss is so annoying! After I've completely pushed all offensive attacks onto it, it decides to go on the defend and just suck all the HP out of my team and nullify all the attacks I did before. Guess it's time to grind like crazy because I'm not doing enough damage before each time he shields up. My party is level 45... ;~;

the easiest way to farm is go to secend city after awaking all the crystles use black magic and arcanist and posion then exterminate and repeat till lvl 99

i think spell fencers are better then black mages when dual wielding swords and brave 5 times you will do a ton off damage way more then a black mage will ever do

This guy. I beat him by leveling to 50. All my characters max knight class dual shield bloody shield. Keep auto-potion as a support ability and max my characters for defense. Default until his shield goes down and he blasts me. Then brave once per character and use the knights BP attack Super Charge a few rounds, rinse and repeat.

I don't get this game. I mean, maybe its because I'm getting older but it's like people mistake "hard boss" with "Okay, give him a bullshit shield, an attack that can kill you in one hit, and then make him heal himself-" "Wouldn't it be cheap if he can just will himself back into life once the player gets an advantage? Maybe we should put some sort of cost or penalty to that ability so he can't spam it every turn." "You're right, he should draw health straight from the player. That will make it more challenging." Yea, it's really irritating. Even more so when we had him down to 4HP(!) and he simply pulled back two lots of health immediately after. We were *not* impressed with that at all...

While I understand what you mean, I'd have to disagree. To be "truly difficult" you would need to maximize the groups ability to mitigate, recover, support, and do damage. Anything less, would be a stepping stone on the way to that mark. So if a boss can 1 shot the whole team, you need to maximize their mitigation more. But even with that mitigation, damage taken prior, or damage taken later, kills you after mitigating, then your recovery isnt good enough. but if you spend too many turns trying to recover, then his self healing will negate your damage. So now you need to raise your damage, and or recovery. So you need to be good at most of the requirements needed to beat him. (don't forget support can help, but isnt needed, therefor there is technically a way to make this fight harder) Plus there is a single job that can pretty much negate most of his mechanics. (Think FF3, and how you had to switch everyone to a job, to make a boss easier)
