I'm not a fan of heat lamps, but some other comment about how the plates would be heated normally, sounded good. It seems the Cloches solved their issue, though.

@@rmgood196 The show gave many contributing factors that made it not the fault of the stews, chef or temp servers. The induction burners that were not working. The cold wind. People with eyes can see that on Sirocco there also seems to be a longer distance for them to walk from the galley, compared to some other Below Deck yachts. Comments have added that restaurant plates along with the food starts out hot. The complaints on the show about cold food seemed to happen with plates taken immediately, as well as ones that might have waited (sometimes due to stew, crew or chef). We have the commentary how Anastasia took a longer to plate. None of the guests complained after they started using the cloches. With this wealth of contributing factors and a working solution, you are convinced that it is all Hannah's fault? Hannah's not even the only server.That's a weird bias. When she leaves the galley with those plates, you can see she's hurrying. They look like the start of a race, pushing out of that galley, but you think they aren't moving fast enough? You do understand the food wouldn't look all picture perfect and the accidents that could occur if they went any faster? The other times, when they aren't in the galley, picking up plates, they're still shown serving the guests, which is what causes the delay. It literally is her job to not say no to the guests. She doesn't get the liberty of saying, I have to bring the next course now, then I'll get your drink (or whatever else they asked for or keeping things topped up without them asking, etc.).

It's not just on yachts, that is kitchen behavior. You go from waiting to go, go, go to waiting to go, go, go until everyone is fed or your shift is over. It's a lot of adrenaline rushes, highs and lows. It leads to a lot of lashing out at people, throwing objects, etc.

You did see were the stews said the Sirocco was missing a lot of expensive decor (that it probably accumulated over longer time and locales than Anastasia's one stop). An annual boat show, has a year to plan and more time and hands to prepare presentations. I agree with that to a point. That said, the items in Sandy's examples aren't rare, expensive items. Rope, boxes, wine bottles, some decor balls. The hardest thing would be glass or acrylic, etc. decor holders. Anastasia, definitely was lacking creativity and can't glam on a dime. She totally missed the nice white lotus shaped holder things and probably other stuff, we didn't see from the camera shots. I understand why Hannah just made do, instead of asking for time and a budget they didn't have. She didn't have a reason not to trust Anastasia to the delegated task. She could have done some plan for failure (maybe, that 24 hours doesn't sound like long) and her plan B was the balloons.

Both Capt. Sandy and Joao understand it is a Bosun questioning Captain respect & safety issue. Just because it wasn't the spark plug, doesn't invalidate her degree or method. It's like calling tech support and they tell you to disconnect everything and turn it off, wait a while and turn it back on. If he'd been able to explain the first time she asked about the spark plug, why he was ruling out, as a troubleshooting step he hadn't tried, instead of doubling down on insubordination, then she would agreed. He didn't. This time, it means they waste time, increase stress and lose sleep. On the sea, next time he questions orders, it could mean someone's life or expensive damages that she, as Captain is responsible for.

Whether Joao was disrespectful or not is debatable, but not the issue I am speaking of. If a man spoke of the spark plug after hearing the engine "won't turn", Joao may have behaved the exact same way. So making it a man/woman thing is also inappropriate.

The whole scenario is ridiculous. First of all, checking the spark plug is not on the list of things to check if the engine won't even turn over. Then, Sandy speaking about the oil reservoir on the (above interview) show and trying to ridicule Joao, while praising Jack is kind of low class. Honestly, when I first heard her speak of the spark plug, I thought "what a ridiculous request, it is not the spark plug", and Joao must have felt the same way.

@Us Us Yes Joao was wrong to not checking the oil, and Sandy was foolish for asking about a spark plug. What happened on the show was Sandy asked about something it could not have been, period. That it was the oil, and I am assuming Joao was responsible for maintaining the engine in the toys, is immaterial to what happened on the show. To bring up Joao's "incompetence" on this interview above is low class, and does not help her case of what happened on the actual show. It actually makes her look weaker.

Her saying "if I were a man you would listen", is foolish. You said "he tried her patience" too often? I really have not seen that, but even if that was the case, she picked the wrong hill to die on. She looked like a fool in this case, and he was right about the spark plug. Her saying she has an engineering degree just makes her look even worse. You have a big problem with Joao, and I do not. He is not perfect and he has room to grow, but Sandy turning this into an "authority" issue was proof she has room to grow as well.

I get why Ben feels superior enough to question the sleep of the second and third stu because he’s a higher rank than Hannah. But it still wasn’t his department. I love Ben and I love the look of the food he put out but he has got a temper! And I don’t think Sandy was pulling the gender card. I really do think that if it were Captain Lee Joao would not have done the same thing he would have jumped high! But then on the flipside of the gender card issue, Sandy death present herself to also be a friend so it’s kind of a double edged sword you can’t be a friend and a captain I guess I don’t know

It seems that Joao and Hannah are both trapped within the 'joys' of middle management, (sarcasm intended). Joao, I see you trying so hard to please Captain Sandy, and to lead by example with the deck hands. As a middle manager you have to eliminate people who are pulling you down physically and psychologically if you can. Jack is funny, but you trying to motivate him constantly is like Sisyphus pushing that stone up the mountain. Why are you doing it? When it comes to a job, you cannot be everyone's mate. Jack needed to go, and Travis as well. I do not care if Travis did not drink 'during' charter, his life is like an After School Special for alcoholics in denial. In other words, two negative crew, make you, defeat you. Changing to Hannah: Hannah, I think you seem like a genuinely awesome person, but your team may be nicer to your face than they actually are behind your back? To me, it seems both Aesha and Anastasia are super big life drama instigators. Good for TV, bad for your sanity Hannah. Aesha should have never put you in that situation by going to the Captain, and then coming to you without telling you that she had already spoken to Capt. Sandy about the gloves at dinner service. Seemed contrived to me at worst, and a really bad oversight on her part at best. Anastasia is dealing with something that I am not sure she will even realize until she goes back and watches this season years from now. She lost her identity when she went from being the 3rd Stew, to the Sous Chef, to the Head Chef, and back to the 3rd Stew with Sous Chef responsibilities again. It would mess with anyone, but again, not your problem Hannah. Her employment identity crisis is NOT your problem. The fact that you specifically allowed/directed her to purchase table decor from the harbor town, and she did not follow your instructions. She came back with nothing! That seemed benign at the time, but as you can see now. That benign action by her, comes back and bites you in your butt, not hers. Again, middle management sucks! You are way too smart a lady to not be able to see how all of this is being turned into a Hannah thing, when it should be 2nd Stew and 3rd Stew things. Don't be their 'mate', be their boss. Seems that Capt. Sandy has no trouble turning into a Tasmanian devil on you and Joao this season. As your Boss she almost has to do that sometimes. (Kind of over the top for both of you on this episode however. ) It is definitely demoralizing when a supervisor reprimands a Dept. Manager in the presence of both yours, and Joao's subordinates. Not cool Capt. Sandy. At any rate, long winded, to say I feel for both you and Joao. Middle management sucks! P.S. Captain Sandy, I expect a little more from you. I love your life story, but this was NOT your finest hour. I hope you are okay, b/c I really like you, and I want you to succeed.

I doubt anyone tells the guests to pretend to be sea sick. These people are drinking a lot of alcohol and possibly not enough water and hungover the morning. I don't really think that guest was faking it. People can get sea sick in smaller seas than they were showing. I've seen people be that pathetic in real life and they weren't sick at sea. They do tend to be the wuss drama queen type, though. Long story short - Taking dramamine, while underway can cause sea sickness, even if you aren't prone to it.
