This looks good. The only thing is you need to add combat times for each spell based on their turn time. You can use Baldur's gate 1/2 & NWN for reference as they have casting times. Then it's just a question of maths. A fireball I think used to take about 3 seconds to pull off where is Invisibility was like 1.5 seconds or something. Apart from fine tuning this with being able to pause at will to control each character, this is gonna get us proper Baldur's Gate fans out of our holes. I knew this was possible. I have noticed some game designers have reached out to you as well. I wish you the best my friend. I've subscribed and am watching this closely

Try the mod with the WASD mod to see how combat feels. It might also be a good idea to have a cool down system for spells so you can’t just spam as much 😊

@@tr44647 haha, well usually you can't spam so much just because the fights last a lot longer -- we were trolling at low rogue score just to test the system out

For all the RPG lovers thats an amazing mod. I always preffered Combat in Real Time with Pause than TurnbasedCombat., I think that refflects much better a real fight, and it's harder. I don't understand why is so difficult to mod it and why to use AI for the companions. Why not to play the same way the olders rpgs? Just Pause in any moment and command all the character one by one? Thanks ♡

Thanks! Btw, if you want to turn off the companion AI and only manually command them, you can do this by pressing F11 (or going to the menu and unchecking the companion AI option)

i'm not sure if you can do that but if you can add another variable and you call it mana and set it under the player health and make the skill cost mana that way you can balance the game to do that you will need to hardcode the game and i'm not sure if you can do that and make the mana eather reganarate or you can use item to refill it and when you rest

@@Anas_RG mana is a cool system but I'm sticking with spell slots for now... This mode is imbalanced for sure but I don't think spell slots are the main culprit!

Cantrips and spells are activating really fast! What did you end up deciding to do in order to get combat so fast? You're progressing really well, man. Each update shows how amazing this mod might end up being

@@carloslacerda8888 thanks! Yeah it's pretty fast paced but we enjoy it that way. Probably I'm going to just add a setting to adjust the enemy action timer. Right now it's a 6 second timer and tbh that's absurdly long. 2 or 3 seconds will probably be the sweet spot.

@@tinybike I did enjoy how fast paced it was as well, but still curious about how you got the aiming to work so perfectly. And like someone proposed before, I do agree that you should try out the WASD mod along yours and see how it goes. Who knows, maybe you'll end up with a D&D + Devil May Cry combat mod combo

I played this mod with controller. The controller is hard to choose the target. So is it possible to add a function like choosing the nearest enemy in the controller mod?

I've been keeping track of your progress on this, great work. I can't wait for it to be properly use-able in the campaign. I am a game designer and if you need any help solving the design problems that come with changing the combat, send me a message, I am happy to help you. I could never finish BG3 because i dislike the turn based combat. Really looking forward to this, and looks like it improves the multiplayer too.

@@TheDanielDFox no, we have a full party of 4 people, and when we don't have 4, we put their character in the wardrobe. (There is a companion AI but it's pretty basic)

Clicking on the turn-based button will pause it (in the way that the game pauses when you click this normally, when you're not in combat), or you can press F9 to switch into turn-based mode

Unfortunately no, it requires script extender, so I think it won't work on console

That would be a horrible idea, dont ruin the game for yourself, playrealas is first time at least.
