Its not just the frame data. With every new patch/character the way the hitboxes have come out of sigs have gotten significantly worse. It all started with jaeyun at first. Before then, any massive hitbox that will come out would be accompanied by a few smaller ones for a few frames before that. Almost every sig of Imugi has fast startup AND the hitboxes go from literally 0 to insane in a single frame.

if you play in a 2v2 match where all players are imugi its basically whoever can spam sigs smarter wins and thats from my experience as of currently from friendly 2v2s

For the record: slight-ssig does NOT carch dodge up and away. That only works because the training bot puts down the controller after dodging that way, you can absolutely jump out if you dodge that way first.

Dex really needs to be reworked, it has for years. My suggetion for it is how fast you are able to sig after sigging. I feel like a lot of the Sig Spammed legends would be not as viable if this was how Dex worked.

Thats one of the things that it does, however every sig has frame data exclusive to itself. So although taking away dex/getting the dex stance has that same universal change on every character, since the frame data original to that characters sigs are batsht insane it just doesnt work

Let’s be honest, they won’t rework something like dex because it would be too big of a change to the game, that might just turn away a large portion of the playerbase. What they should do however, is design characters to fit the stats. A strong character with low dex should have slow and hard hitting sigs with a lot of (brawlhalla-wise) recovery time. Instead we get an actual tank that has sigs faster than some legends who’s whole character archetype is “being quick”

I feel like the value of frame data it affects should be bumped up since we dont really feel much difference between + dex or -dex compared to all the other stats. But maybe this will give us too much 3 hit true combos lol

why do they love making the newer legends have the most obnoxious sigs, I remember thinking petra n-sig on gauntlets was annoying but now we have mako sid sig that goes across stage, thea sigs that have 4 different directions with fast recovery frames, and just overall every new legend having a sig where it covers them, makes them move where its hard to punish like 7's cannon sigs or have a projectile that shoots across stage like arcadia. I know im complaining but compare old legends like Isaiah n sig with guns or side sig with cannon is so laughable compared to these new legend who can hit you in a flash sitting middle stage, its a no brainer to keep abusing these legends, getting diamond with arcadia was the easiest thing oat

here's my suspicion: they noticed how powercreep is profitable in systems like trading card games, and decided to implement such a factor. sure, you can grind for the free gold for the newest hottest character, but you're gonna wanna steez out with skins and cosmetics; you're gonna wanna *apply* that advantage state to something, like a battle pass you can now clear easier... why buy bodvar skin #243 when i can buy one of three release skins for the newest strongest fighter? oh, wait, in three months here's 3 more skins that look 300% better; you like it more than the first one you bought, and it's your main character now, so sunk cost fallacy and/or stockholm syndrome really hits different; especially since you're hooked on applying the benefits of this new broken character you have. but wait, another few months and the cycle repeats, as either a balance patch nerfs the character into dust, buffs an existing character in an indisputable way, or best of all lets just drop a new character that completely invalidates the previous one. goodness that took a lot of words.

I know you kinda talked ab it on the vid, but what are your plans on competition? Are you going ti BCX I'm a long time fan, and returning player to Brawlhalla, i came back bc i heard they were dropping a new GS legend and i had so much fun with the weapon when they released it, i stopped playing brawlhalla around the time they released reno (assuming that was the legend they realeasd after magyar bc i dropped the game around that time) so i said "why not give this one a try" And its been honestly weird to watch the pro scene again and notice that is almos all new faces, that or what used to be upcoming players at the time i stopped playing the game a few years ago You've honestly always been my favorite pro player and content creator to watch, i was looking forward to seeing the veterans of the game like you to still compete, I'm assuming that cody travis just retired, i heard he won bcx at some pont but i wasn't much into brawlhalla at that moment In general i think I've just been confused trying to watch the pro scene and missing some old faces lol

Idk overall I thinkBMG was playing it safe for 2024 and I don’t think it was a bad idea as long as they do have a big balance patch in a week or 2. As long as they do that I think it’ll have been good and worth it. It would also just make sense. Having 2 big balance patches every year to shake things up (one start of year and one after CEO) and between doing small patches would be a better system if those small patches had more to them

They have the chance to set a really good precedent for upcoming patches going forward and to prove to community they care about and pay attention to balance. It’s either gonna be like a renaissance or a big fall for brawlhalla balance. Could be great or awful but whatever they do next will be what precedent they set for us and if it’s bad could ruin their competitive scene

I just wish the combat system was better all around. Something like smash bros. Tired of clearly touching people with my attacks just for them not to land. Because of the way the game is designed.
