Sometimes the trees are left as pillars of an empty cathedral, bathed in eerie silence. So is the case with the Atlantic Forest of eastern Brazil and Paraguay. With less name recognition and much less land size than other iconic forests, the Atlantic Forest is often overlooked but it’s an amazing place quickly being emptied of its wondrous inhabitants. Hunting is one of the major causes of biodiversity loss there, and in some areas many of the trees are left standing, the habitat though shrunk is somewhat intact. Our small goal: now you know it exists. And maybe there’s someone out there who will feel called upon to make it their cause. That’d be awesome. Spread the word.

Amazing videography. The Atlantic forest is so beautiful and filled with God's wonderous and amazing creatures. So many beautiful colorful birds and such tiny little micro toads, so unique, and adorable. I really enjoyed learning about this special place. Thanks you!

Never heard about the Atlantic forest before! Thank FD for exiting narration about its citizens' having their own personalities -live wires - birds and coach- potatoes -toads and frogs! It s amazing to see that they serve and communicate like us - human beings! We must keep the forest in safe as it s our home!

- Yes I've heard of that bird. It's pretty smart. It fools other birds into thinking that's their egg. I'm unsure how it doesn't smell the difference but hey, oh well. That's what bad mothers do, they abandon their kid(s).

Unfortunately, the Atlantic Forest is the most devastated Brazilian biome in the whole country, it was the first morphoclimatic domain to suffer the impact of Portuguese colonization, and it was in it that all the great national economic cycles took place, in addition, it was in this biome that all the large metropolises in Brazil. Today only 3% of this magnificent forest still exists, of the 6 biomes that exist in my country, it is the most threatened to cease to exist forever. In the Atlantic forest there was an endemic tree called Pau Brasil (Today practically extinct), which had a vibrant red tone like lava, it was from this tree that the name of my country came, Brazil means "Red like fire" 🇧🇷

Thank you so much for showing this. I’ve never heard of this forest until now. It is so glorious and full of life. Ah, why are people so dull and so foolish? Why destroy such a precious ecosystem for money? What good will money be in on a planet that is in ruin? They don’t see that, they aren’t educated and they aren’t thinking about the real consequence of their deeds. We must educate as many people as we can about the precious nature of these biomes and perhaps they will be saved. I know the God who made these awesome forests can help us to preserve them, this is a test for mankind, He says, and we have eternal life if we don’t follow the temporary evil that fell upon our planet in ancient times. The evil spirits who are leading men to destroy these forest will likely tell you that I am a superstitious fool so be aware of this proverb, “behold, the work of a magician is very great when his viewers have no understanding.” Ask God for understanding and may God help you not to be deceived about the world. Amen

Sorry, but this was one of the most boring nature programs I've seen. It consists largely of still frame shots of different types of birds, and that was the bulk of the entire hour. I guess if you're a bird lover then dig in, but maybe the title should say this is a bird documentary...
