that was the team Brazil should have gone with to 2006... Cicinho, Gilberto and Robinho was much younger and in better shape than Cafu, Roberto Carlos and Ronaldo who were past their primes. Just the name recognition cost then that tournament really in the game against france neither of the fullbacks had the legs to press as they should go watch that game again and you see that

Cicinho, Gilberto and Robinho weren't that good. In the 2010 cup, it was their time to shine but they flopped. The only thing that could've been done better in 2006 is to start Adriano, Fred and Alex. But Alex was never called in a world cup, what a joke.

Everyone was expecting this Brazilian team to win their 6th World Cup in 2006. Scolari definitely had a supremely gifted side however I felt that a few players were past their prime like Cafu, Ze Roberto and even R9 Ronaldo. Scolari should have had Adriano as Center forward, Left sided attacking midfielder Ronaldinho, right sided attacking midfielder Kaka. Wingback left side Roberto Carlos, wingback right side Cicinho. 3 central midfielders, Emerson, Gilberto Silva, Juninho. Central defenders Juan, Lucio and Luisao. Goalkeeper of course the one and only Dida.

Fun fact: Every time Germany hosted a tournament, they ended up losing in the semis to the eventual champion, the 1974 World Cup was the exception, as they won that tournament. Yes, that's true, but there is a fact that Germany's success in winning 4 World Cups and 3 European Cups, and what's even more great is that Germany rose after being ravaged by World War 2, the world champion in 1854.. it was amazing.. and united in the year 1854. 1989 and world champion in the following year.
