This is a traditional Bulgarian song about a group of people - including a girl called Petrunka - looking for somewhere to dance. One of the places they find is Petrunka’s village where “there are three dances”. Petrunka leads in the first dance until a wild man takes his place next to her at the front, instead of where he should be in the middle, and clumsily messes up the dance by headbutting her flowers and stepping on her feet.
Sung here by Sophie and Nathalie Cooper and Lucy Guest.
