Love these tips and have helped me loads recently! I might suggest a video after getting drenched in the winter league the last few weeks... how do you pack your tackle up and particularly your pole and top kits to make sure they stay clean and dry for the next session? Spending a fortune on tackle and Eva to keep everything safe but if it’s wet through going in then I’m getting nowhere haha!

Not a lot you can do other than pack it away and get it all out to dry and clean when you get home. Or alternatively pack it away wet, forget about it and realise it’s covered in mould next time you fish 😂

Stotz if F1 fishing number 11s 4x10 4x12 in any depth use back shot F1 look up at the bait falling so a natural fall is better I've learnt this the hard way

why do you use line thickness instead of breaking strain, as the breaking strain is different from company to company ob the same line size.

Pretty much the way it is referred to in the match world, breaking strains will vary massively from what is on the spool and what they actually break at, some massively under rated and some over rated. So diameter is a more consistent way of measuring them. As you say it does vary between manafacturers so it's always good to stick to one type once you find one you like.

Float bristles are available as part of a range pole float materials. They are available in different thickness, solid or hollow and various colours. The thickness and material of the bristle effect the buoyancy as well as the ability to see it. However, no need to make your own as there plenty of pole floats available on Ebay, or direct from the makers, in various types, variations and weights. Just a thought when we refer to a float being 4x8 it takes 4 x No. 8 styl weights which a European measurement not English slit shot/slotz weights - Really confusing and many of us lesser mortals convert both into grams and then buy pole floats calibrated in grams rather than styl(e)s or split shot. Jamie uses Tim Moores and Richie Wilson Floats www.rwfloats.co.uk but there are many others to choose from.
