AB, this bread pudding recipe is the bomb! I just tried it and got compliments right away! It came out great. I used Jack Daniel's whiskey instead of brandy but same principle and it was delicious! This is my recipe going forward! Thanks AB!

My mother made the best ever bread pudding, but she is now long deceased. As I thought she would live forever, I never thought to ask her for her recipe. I've been looking for a recipe that fits what she used to make, and this comes very close IMO. I tried it and yes, it is. But I never thought of it as a breakfast/brunch dish. We always ate it as a dinner dessert.

My beloved grandmother Evelyn made some of the best bread pudding in the world !;!!!! I had the fondest memories of her making bread pudding with the most plump raisins and often served with vanilla ice cream . I miss her so much and she's been my guardian angel since May 2008 .Love you , Mama

Mmmmmmmm. I love bread pudding. I make it for our church fellowships at times and everyone gets theirs before the meal to make sure they get some. I use rum extract instead of brandy. But I like the brandy too.

I'm going to make this next weekend. The only thing I'll do differently is soak the raisins overnight in the brandy - that way I'll get a little delicious squirt of goodness every time I bite into a raisin! Also, that way, NO brandy is wasted.
