Omg! This looks very delicious! And You’re right about the breadfruit in the Asian stores. They just aren’t as good as the ones back home. When I go to my local Asian market, the breadfruit there already look bad. Some are squishy ☹️

Håfa Adai! I brought back several coolers....mostly with lemmai, månha, tuba, and my dad's dried meat/fritåda....things we just can't get in stateside stores. I almost cried when I skinned and cooked breadfruit from our local H-Mart.......like, is this actually lemmai??? :-) Thanks so much for stopping by!!

Looks gof mangge! I love the addition of bacon. I have a smoked jowl in the fridge I may use for this application. My Saipan side of the family calls this dish Saibok. I'm not sure if that's a slang, or Saipan-specific, but either way this is one of my favorite Chamorro dishes. I like this with any of the other starches, but I have a special place in my heart for lemmai. My favorite pairing is to eat this with a whole fried fish ---with my hands, of course. :)

Yes, the smoked jowl will totally work!! There are a good handful of different terms we use for the same dish among our islands. Yup, this with fish is incredible. Thanks for sharing!!

When I visited Guam a few years ago I was told that there were no more because of the influx of Micronesians.. Of course the situation may be different depending on villages, I'm from Barrigada
