You should take the orange cooler in the hotel and wash out and use on your trip for carting ice and chilling drinks so You can use the smaller one for other food items. Great finds and love traveling By car as you do see more of homes and unique shopping places.

You guys should wash that orange cooler, add ice with salt in the bottom ,pack your sparkling water in it and then add ice over the top. Shouldn't need more than a bag every couple days if you keep it closed except for when you get out a cold water for the road trip. By adding salt to the water it stays way colder.

I have only gone dumpster diving maybe 5-6 times in my life and found good stuff every single time! I found a huge picture frame with tags on it, makeup still in it’s packaging, I found about 300 Thanksgiving cards with their envelopes, big bags of Cheetos, large canisters of Folger’s coffee, and some Christmas ornaments with nothing wrong with them from a Dollar Store. My husband will be retiring in about 1 1/2 years. I will start doing this just like y’all to buy less, help recycle, and donate to Salvation Army! It’s amazing to me what you can save from going into the landfills!

Alex and Kellie, looks like you're having the best time, finding lots of stuff you can utilize for your travels. Thought you might use that ice chest. Typically, that brand and circular style keeps things super cold for longer than others. Get a block of ice and chip the edges to fit the chest and you'll have ice for a couple days if you keep it cool inside the truck, instead of the truck bed. Also, if you wash it out good, any ice that melts can be used during your camping, for cleaning up, cuppa java, a spot of tea or? Love your new Diva/Diving outfits, two Lucys. You two are So Fun! While you're in St. Louis try to find a Ted Drew's ice cream--so good! Also, don't pass by a Merb's candy store (I think there's one in the city on South Grand Blvd. and one in South County, just off Lemay Ferry Rd. on Concord Village Ave.) without stopping for a Bionic Apple....OMG, they are incredible, huge Granny Smith apples on sticks, covered in the best caramel and chopped pecans--YUM!

You should keep that tall igloo cooler, wash it out in the tub in your hotel, and make some mixed sparkling water with cut up pineapple and lemons in it. All that you found today. Put some ice in it from the ice vending machine in the hotel so you will have your own FREE homemade sparkling fruit drink for your trip.

Lucy and Chris…lol…just wanted to share something with you. If you can find cheap air mattresses they are worth it when camping!! My ex and I went from WV to CA tent camping back in ‘80!! We tent camped for a month and hit a bunch of tourist sites. I kept a diary and it was fun!

Y’all should get a portable air mattress be that you both could share that would make your trip so much enjoyable, if not that ground will kill your backs . Just make sure you clear anything under the tent before setting it all up , I know they roll up small it wouldn’t take much room but s worth the room it does take up . Or look on the local Facebook market place where your at and see if they have one for sale . Just would love to see you guys enjoy your trip 😊 You could blow it up any where most can grounds probably would let you plug it in long enough to blow it up 😊

While diving if you and Alex find an inflatable mattress, get a bicycle pump and blow it up to put onthe ground. Make sure that it has an attachment for the bicycle pump to usse to inflate it.😊😊
