Hi Chuck, greetings from the UK. I'm in no way an airgun beginner being 56 years young and have shot airguns most my life. I'm really enjoying this series. I find your enthusiasm and knowledge very contagious. After watching any of your vids I just want to shoot my rifle so please keep up the great work. If you are an airgun noob, take a tip, listen to what this man says, he knows his apples.

Great review, a new subscriber here, you are absolutely right when it comes to spring piston air rifles, start out with a budget rifle & work your way up, I started with a Remington Express 10 years ago, which is a Chinese branded rifle, which I still own, been shooting PCP's for the last 6-7 years & recently decided to go back to springer, out go most of my PCP's, in comes a Diana 34-the best Diana springer in my opinion, a Weihrauch HW97-the best under lever air rifle & a Hw80k - the best break barrel springer, bar none. 😁👍

I collect airguns and regular powder firearms but I actually enjoy airguns more. I think a lot of it has to do with the fact that I'm able to enjoy my airguns a lot more than my firearms. Some of my family and a couple of my friends give me a hard time and crack jokes about my airguns sometimes but I don't give a shit. My nieces and nephew is absolutely love me and have a blast when they hang out with me 😂 I think the issue is people have a misconception that airguns are for kids and they're definitely not. I mean they can be, but the airguns that I have are certainly not toys, lol. I collect break barrels too. I particularly like them. I have a bunch of underlievers too, but I prefer break barrels.

Great video as always. I have an HW 90. It seems to fill quite the range with adjustable power. Not a spring or gas ram. Compressed air spring. You can run the pressure down to HW 30 FPE and lower. To HW 95 or 80 power levels. The higher the pressure, the more pellet picky it gets. I never considered the Weihrauch line to be budget friendly. I think for beginners the Gamo line is a better entry level drug. Once you break the 150, 200 dollar mark with Gamo. You are on your way to a high dollar fix. The most accurate airgun I have. The Sig Sauer ASP 20 in .177. I would have liked to have one in .22. It's a shame Sig stopped production. At half the money, it out shoots any of my German rifles. If I had to part with all but one. The Sig would be the keeper.

Just found out what works great as lube inside piston spring grease. I used to used regular bearing grease but the red from Walmart it started breaking down but just put a new piston seal cleaned inside tube with brake cleaner changed because it was dieseling. So used the sticky bearing grease doesn't seem to break down like regular grease had both in garage the regular bearing grease was breaking down and separating like some was runny but my older sticky bearing grease which is probably some type of marine grease i think? Seems to not break down and is working great in one of my hw95 luxus 22cal. Have Diana 48 side lever. It is super accurate just like my weihrauch's so is my RWS/Diana 350 magnum in 22cal. Try the sticky grease sometime. Maybe called tacky grease?

Awhile ago you mentioned the gamo rifle shooting high and low because of the alive jam (detent). I have three crosman air rifles very accurate on horizontal but up and down on vertical. Taking your insight I replaced the spring behind the detent with a stronger spring and now the rifles are accurate to 1/4 ". If anyone else has a problem like this try this fix.

@@gordsalo-io8iu Thank you for checking out my video!😃👍 Since I added a new spring behind the wedge detent in my Crosman Storm XT, it improved it much. I do have a hard time mentioning Gamo because of the plastic breach block and wedge detent, but they are known for good barrels.

Jim Chapman claims the nitro gas guns are better and more consistent than springers whats your take
@springpistonriflefeverlone96114 ай бұрын
@@chub4141 I like Jim Chapman, but Jim Chapman is sponsored💵by all of the air rifle's from the companies in his videos. He would lose his sponsorship💵 soon as he said something that was truthful. The current producers of the best air rifles in the world are Weihrauch and Air Arms and they use steel coiled springs in their rifles. If the gas spring was superior, they would switch the rifles over. A steel coiled spring will always be much smoother, easier to cock and more reliable, especially when tuned right.
