In the last 3 months I've increased the moisture strength balance to more of a 70/30 ratio. Because my hair is so fine, the breakage had been crazy bc I was focused on moisture. Every year I've to cut 3-4 inches of breakage when I thought I was doing everything correct to keep my hair moisturized. Well apparently I needed more strength. Now I'm incorporating bond treatments, Aphogee OR Ayurvedic hair mask every 2 weeks. My ends have never been this full 🙌🏾
@marleyhill346 ай бұрын
I have ultra-fine hair. I have to use all the Aphoghee products. Daily protein mist. every 2 weeks the 2 minute conditioner and every 4-6 weeks the 2 Step treatment. My hair is so fine that synthetic braiding hair causes microfractures in my hair.

The biggest thing that has transformed my hair is reducing manipulation by 1. Washing hair in 6-8 braids to prevent tangling 2. Treating my hair like silk - detangling takes 1-3 hours depending on how tangled or matted it is as I finger detangle gently 3. Washing hair every 3 weeks and keeping scalp clean by avoiding build up, using essential oils such as peppermint & witchhazel to keep scalp clean. I reapply once a week (not much on scalp though, to avoid build up) 3. Eating better (my hair strands are noticeably slightly thicker!) I can’t stress this enough, but this has transformed my hair. As a girlie with fine hairstrands, I was stuck at armpit length but after I made the changes above, I started retaining so much length!

Hi Tonya 👋 I've been trying to grow my hair for over 2 years & it just doesn't grow, because of hereditary male patterned balding, so, I've accepted the fact that I have short hair from birth, but, I do everything to keep my hair cleaned, moisturized & protected under my wigs & I'm okay with it 💝 I can't afford the products you recommend, so, I do what I can to keep my hair moisturized & protected under my wigs 🤷 thanks for all the info you've provided over the years!

Hey ! I dont know about hereditary patterned balding, it can of course impact your growth. But please make sure it is the only reason ur hair is not growing and not a manipulation problem or breakage problem due to protein/ moisture imbalance or just mis applying the products, being to rough, not doing the deep conditionner frequently enough. I am saying that because a lot of People r so convinced their hair cant grow, especially people with kinky hair. And for some it is true. But for a lot of them, we just didnt know how to correctly take care of our hair. And were told from day 1 that is just the way it is. Good luck anyway, lots of support ☺️

I have very fine, thin 3c/4a low porosity hair. I wash my hair at least once a week. I pre-poo with Mama Sitas Miracle Butter Cream Hair Butter & Growth Formula. ( BEST HAIR GREASE EVER!!!) I ALWAYS do a deep conditioner with steam after a wash. I use an ACV rinse once a month and a green tea rinse once a month. I definitely make sure to do massages with a rosemary and castor oil mixture 4 to 5 nights a week. I make sure to get my ends trimmed every 4 to 6 months, and that works for me. I’ve seen some serious hair healthy and growth since I’ve een consistently doing this! 👏 🙌

You looked so cute in the wig! I like the half wig idea especially in the summer time. For years I was suffering from massive shedding due to anemia, low vitamin d and such but not anymore. For the past 6 months I use olaplex 3 as my prepoo cover with plastic shower cap and leave it in over an hour or 2 because my hair is always full of products from gel and hair oils etc. I shampoo my hair next and deep condition for an hour with a plastic cap. I'm still amazed how very little shedding I get using olaplex 3 is keeping my hair healthy and I cut back on sooooo many sweets. Hope this helps someone. God Bless!

I definitely want you to talk more about moisture protein. I think I am struggling with it a bit. I am in my length retention phase. I have done a few for length retention. I have incorporated humectant water, bond treatments, and extended my wash day from 1-2 weeks to minimise the handling of my hair. I am still struggling with detangling, though, but it's better than it was prior. I really want to master this aspect for ultimate length retention.

I have a permanent area where a stylist left on a thick odorless relaxer too long. I'd told her it was melting and warm, and she (non black) kept saying, "I know when to take it out." It's been over 14 years, and I still have peach fuzz and some scraggly, patchy "growth". Maybe I can go back to my weekly regimen (shampoo, maybe cowash, rinse, then finger detangle and a low maintenance protective style) and try rosemary oil blend?

Pre-poo with a real slippery conditioner before each shampoo first. Finger detangle first before using a comb. Haitian Black castor oil and peppermint oil and massage that area regularly. Use a shampoo brush when shampooing to increase blood flow. And check your iron and vitamin D levels next visit to doctor because if any one of those levels are off, your hair won’t thrive.
