Paradise Valley.. Found my first arrowhead there in 1954.. Been there many times as I lived in Winnemucca and Paradise was.. well. paradise . I hung around the "millpond"...I have some cool black and whites I took of Paradise ( pre discovery)...over the years.. Is the Quonset(sp) hut over the adobe bar still there.? The bartender, the dog and a cool story circa 1955..... I took a trip there in the spring of 1981..alone .. in my RX7 ( I was a factory rep for Mazda and Nevada was part of my territory) I had a large breasted 103 lb blonde for a wife and she was a problem...similar to a Ferrari, fast around corners and unreliable.... I needed to make a serious life changing decision... I went to W'mucca then off to Paradise in the RX7 alone where I got stuck in the snow .. managed to get out.. Wandered up to my favorite outlook ( I took a selfie with a Nikon FE2) and pondered my fate and what I should do about what's-her-name. I made a decision on my ponder rock... she has to go. The rest of the story is......Do not visit, call, write or in anyway contact me or my family. Leave me alone, leave my family alone, go away. She went and I have never seen or heard from her since. My new life began in Paradise.

Thanks for letting us know what was going on, Love. I was hoping you would. If I had to guess, I'd say Terry got some contaminates in his tank in Mexico. And the fuel system cleaners in American diesel fuel probably helped spread them around. So now he's clogging filters and little valves in the system. Duramax diesels are pretty good engines though. My suggestion for him is to run the tank down pretty close to empty and then take it out and clean in up good first chance he gets. That's what I would do. Might save him having to buy any more of the parts from maybe having them clogged and or stressed due to crud in the system. Just me thinking. Anyway, I'm sure glad you were able to make a pretty neat video out of all that. You rock.

The city of Bishop has a reasonably nice municipal swimming pool. It is mostly outdoors with some areas roofed over. Maybe the water is from a natural hot spring, but I don't remember for sure. I do remember the misters (mist sprayers) hanging over the pool which made the heat of the day very comfortable. AT&T only promises to deliver AT&T quality service. And that is what I frequently got from them: no service at all, even well within major metropolitan areas such as Portland and Seattle. As someone often sensitive to the viewpoints of Europeans, I had to cringe at how the three of you, Wunderhussy, her sister, and male friend, were driving around in three separate gas guzzlers with one person in each. This breakdown is funny to me. In the early 1980's, while returning home from a family vacation, our Chevy Suburban's fuel pump went bad. It was puking gas. We pulled into the outskirts of Tonopah and parked. Gasoline ran down the street. I called the fire dept to alert them and maybe come sop up the gas. Nope. They refused. "Call us when it catches fire" they said. It didn't. But we spent 3 days in Tonopah waiting for a new fuel to arrive via a bus and be installed.

The portrait of the clown in your motel room was dated on the makeup used by "Blinky the Clown." He had a show on KWGN channel 2 in Denver in the 60s and 70s. After a change in station ownership, Blinky and the new owners had a falling out - exit Blinky. He takes himself into a new situation, starts a new Blinky show, and got sued by the old TV station. Turns out there was a clause in his contract that prevented him from using "Blinky," the image of the clown or his clown persona anywhere else. The new owners wouldn't relent, allowing Blinky to be himself. Needless to say, Blinky was very bitter over the whole thing. He opened an antique store on S Broadway in Englewood CO, and never was able to be himself, Blinky, ever again. RIP Blinky.

Just MHO, Terry did pretty much everything correctly, you can rebuild the head with a simple gasket kit from Autozone or NAPA, only use ACDelco fuel filters, and add an extra lift pump later, I have a Duramax and have a lift pump still in the box that I will install on my truck soon, the extra lift pump with help the factory fuel pump and keep the pressure to the injectors. Certain brand lift pumps can be $1000, I settled on one that has 2 filters and cost $500 and will install when I have time. Again JMHO.

at 19:57 that old abandoned brothel where you stopped is at the end of an airstrip where US-95 and NEV-266 intersect and at 26:14 do you think the 'lesson' is that real friends (-whether it's you or someone else-)are discovered when times get tough?

This reminds me of the time my buddy rebuilt my alternator for me in a parking lot in Blythe in the middle of the night...

Tonopah is just a weird little historical burg in the middle of a very historical area. Silver mines galore. The Clown Motel is a neat, eclectic place to stay. Grab some coffee and meander through the local graveyard next door.

Cool! Glad you finally made it!... However, I was hoping that you would show a view of the hot springs themselves! Can you swim in them like a hot tub or pool? Are they up in the rocks on a hillside or something? What do they look like/how beautiful and what size are they? Also, where exactly are they? (I'd love to go to see them myself sometime, as I live in the SW USA also.)

A friend of mine used to run an 18 wheeler down to Mexico City with 80 other trucks for the Formula One races they ran in a convoy with four diesel tankers. They didn’t stop they had their own food trucks when they got to Mexico City they stay there for the week set up the communication trucks only use their fuel that they brought from the US. After the race they packed up and drove back to Texas. The convoy had feta rallies in the front and several groups spread out in the convoy and one in the rear. That’s the only way they would travel they wouldn’t use any Mexican fuel 🤔😁👍🏻🇺🇸

The moral of the story is never travel with a friend that has a Chevy diesel crap truck. A few more would be never stay at the creepy clown motel in Tonopah, or eat food in a casino. Also from Lida you should have towed the truck south to Vegas immediately. Or taken it to Belmont and shot holes in it.

Copper Top is great! Haven't eaten at the new location yet. Missed you at the springs by about a week. Hopefully going in tomorrow if I can get myself kicked off this dang jury panel......

Great video! I love old hotels, I recommend the Hotel Colorado in Glenwood Springs, lots of connections to Teddy Roosevelt. A lot of natural springs in the area, you should check it out😎
