When I shield I usually leave a rim around on the face of the guitar to help with the connection to the shielded pickguard .

Seems like this is more of a Sting inspired guitar because that fretboard is so buzzy and the nut is so reluctant to release.

Whoa I think It´s a roasted maple neck !! (Didn´t saw the entire video yet It´s a bit long but great) I know you are a Tele fan, If you are a Guilmour fan as well, you could make a replica or "inspired guitar" of the Tele he is currently playing, He said It´s one off the few guitars he kept to himself and the ONLY he plays live. Look up one of the last 5 o 6 years gigs, there you have It. He sold all his guitars couple of years ago at auction, BUT, he kept a 70´s suberst Tele with Nitro Finish (natural wear, not relic LOL) It has a Strat neck pickup. Sound´s great but they say the sound is in his hands. I´m a fan of Pink Floyd and Guilmour (who saved Pink Floyd depite Roger Watters) and Guilmour. I was surprised you mention in other video Billy Joel (joking with the lirics of a song) I think It was the Radial ABY box demo. I can tell you like great music and songwriters, I bet you like Mc Cartney as well. Cheers.
