Breakdown of the Adventure Time: Fionna & Cake Intro (and Speculations for Season 1)

The intro to the 2nd episode of the Fionna & Cake series took my breath away and made my heart skip multiple beats. Unique Adventure Time opening themes are always a treat, and this one is no different. Heard someone say that maybe the reason Prismo isn't doing too well (with bags under his eyes, some stubble, and also a messy room at 3:28) is because of Jake's Death, which is really sad to think about, but would make total sense. I would be surprised if Jake's death never got addressed seeing as Finn seems very suppressive of it, so it seems like he'll go through an arc at some point in the show, which could involve Prismo

oh my god, I just realized that Jake is still alive, sleeping in Prismo's pickle dimension from the episode "Is that you?" keeping Prismo alive. So an alternate version of Jake from season 6 who's been asleep for like 15 years could be brought back, but Prismo would have to die, and he probably knows he could wake him up at any moment at the cost of himself, that is dark

I highly doubt he'll go through an arc over it, as in Together Again he states quite bluntly that he never got over Jake's death. His life never felt whole without him.

@@godofthecripples1237 i do really feel sad about what Together Again and Episode 2 of FIonna and Cake did to Finn, not as in he's badly written or anything, but those two episodes singlehandedly made him a tragic character. Together Again by itself was already sad buy its the combination of both that makes it hurt for me like, in Together Again you see him as an old man so you could easily assume Jake died recently for him and that's why he's so sad about it, but now Fionna and Cake straight up confirm that no, actually Jake died waay before Finn was that old, so he spent a bigger percent of his life depressed over his brother's death - he basically spent most of his life in this depression and denial and going in more dangerous adventures to get his mind off it - like thats SO TRAGIC HOLY CRAP

I kind of hope each episode does have its own unique intro. We can never get enough songs when it comes to Adventure Time and I think the more this series goes on, the more variety in worlds and characters we'll see, and an appropriate intro song would be a cool way to introduce and differentiate the episodes.

Fionna's mom would be Martia Mertins, since Fionna's last name is Cambell & not Mertins plus she lives in a genderswapped reality it makes sense why she would take the last name of the genderswapped Minerva Campbell

I love the idea that the Fionna and Cake world becomes "boring" because Simon isn't Ice King anymore. Because they only exist inside of his mind, literally and physically to an extent... they popped out of a portal from the back of his mind. Signifying that they still exist, similar to the Ice King identity, in his mind, even if they are simply " in the back of his mind". A common phrase used to represent an idea that lingers in your head even if they're not at the forefront. I hope that this is the case because I think its super cool and pretty much the first thought i had when i saw cake come out of his hair lol

Theory finona and cake was magical when Simon was still ice king but Simon is Simon now = no magic and ice king is kinda dead so magic is dead in finona and cakes worlds

I'm surprised you didn't mention the quick shot of Fionna and Cake fighting evil banana guards. She seems to have a sword that resembles Ice thing with the handles being the beartd and three red gems are drawn in it! That added with a few other screenshots that I won't mention in case anyone hasn't seen, makes me believe they hop in a dimension that has a crazy Candy person on Ice king's role and a normal Ice person on Princess Bubblegum's role!

Judging from the opened hot sauce packets, I think Prismo might be trying to cope with Jake's death in an unhealthy way. We know that the two of them we're pretty close and it can't be easy for an immortal like Prismo; living forever indefinitely while all your friends eventually pass away with the passage of time. Prismo literally wouldn't exist right now if it weren't for Jake!

4:05 they seem to corelate to the different episode themes you've got Jake, a snowman, a mobius strip, a butterfly, a bat, one of golb's Tetris pieces, an almost dehydrated look, and an egg the snowman and bat have very clear connections to episodes that were in the trailers and the dehydrated look seems to also connect to that scene where fionna and cake are walking through a desert, the butterfly might be this one but since there's 8 each one might be connected to each remaining episode I feel like the Egg is probably for farmworld, the mobius might be for prismo's episode since the time room exists outside of time itself, out of all of them though jake being here is the most intriguing, we've seen that one clip with adult finn and jake running towards something may point to that but idk

This stuff has me rewatching the og series. Rip 2010-2016, I have so much nostalgia for those years, coming home from school. It was the later golden age of Cartoon Network (Adventure Time, GumBall, Regaler show, Gravity Falls). These shows were the true successors of the early 2000s bangers.

I think is interesting that we see the infant forms of Finn and the Fern tree (the tree from the series finale would be the infant and the thousand year old version the adult) but not Fionna´s, probably because Ice king/Simon never thougth about Fionna´s childhood, it may be a stretch but adding to that scene were she wears Martin´s jacket and is in clear distress may foreshadow that she will learn that not everything the magical life has to offer is good, specially the family troubles Finn experienced and his current grief over what happened to jake, things Fionna probably never had to experience

I feel like the new "button" on Prismo's remote is the space for "Input" on an old tv remote. Normally Prismo changes a channel to see the different realities. But "Input" implies something stronger. Something fundamentally different is happening to the universe.

I'd like to say that when i saw that little golb idol my eyes actually first shifted up towards the cable, because it immediatelly made me think of the magic betty did at the end of elements and in the finale!

4:05 the transformations actually represent the episodes after 2. 1:Butterfly representing the buterrfly that went on cakes face. 2:the infinity representing the massive scale of the things involving prismo and scarab. 3:Jake representing jake from farm world 4:a snowman representing the winter king winter wolderland 5:a bat representing the vampires domination over Ooo 6:one of the things sorrouding golb(maybe the one lich turned in to) 7: scarab, just representing scarab 8:egg that represent the eggs trown against the scarab Ita cool to se this level of care from the creators.

I think each Cake transformation might just be a fun character reference (I noticed the jiggler shape, likely a bat Marceline, and also straight up Jake the dog haha) but at the 4:08 point Cake is also looking like the general shape of Jake's alien dad when he's about to go all stringy-teleporty. I also wondered if that buff baby Finn could be the new character, but looking back that's definitely just baby Finn haha!

I think when Cake goes through the series of transformations at 4:06 it’s supposed to signify something from each episode starting from episode 3-10 the butterfly that first appears referencing the butterfly that flies on head don’t know about the second one but the third and fourth transformation is a dog that looks like jake and a snowman which directly reference farmworld Jake as well as the winter like world we see in episode 6
