I was raised in the Northeast, but born in South Carolina. This is the type of cooking that my mom , aunties and uncles always cooked and is what i grew up with.Everything that you cook is familiar. I miss those meals and days.

I can’t keep watching you. You make me homesick for that southern food. I live in Colombia, with my beautiful wife. Colombians make red beans 🫘 and rice 🍚 every Friday, with chicharron(fried pork belly). You can really throw down. They don’t have hot links here. They have a sausage called chorizo(chicken, beef and pork or individual meat). I don’t like it, its not ground fine enough. Got hunks of grissel. I like grissel, but not like that. I taught her how to cook grits, home fried potatoes, and hash browns with the cheese grater. If I show her, she’ll cook it.
