Another Doctor Who treasure! This time it's an extended compilation from 1983 as Patrick Troughton and Peter Davison meet Frank Bough and Selina Scott on Breakfast Time to discuss the 20th anniversary celebrations at Longleat. They're introduced to K-9 (voiced by John Leeson), and Russell Grant gets attacked by Daleks! Please enjoy.

I love the physical comedy from Troughton when K9 and the Dalek enter. Such a treasure. Davison is as charming as ever. Both actors brought something unique and memorable to the role.

Patrick is such a big kid. Almost like Peter is the older brother.

I wish I had met Patrick Troughton and had been alive to see his dr in the 1960s I was born in 1969 and I grew up more with Tom Baker as Dr Who. Patrick Troughton is the Dr who will always most associated with the dreaded Cybermen and they were also the favourite enemies of Peter Davison who was very keen in billions of ways to have a Cybermen stroy in his era of Dr Who and also I wish Peter and Patrick could have both gueststarred in Blake,s Seven another awesome science fiction series which did not run longer than 1981 and also B7 has never to this day been rebooted

It’s funny how back then they called the Doctor, ‘Doctor Who’.

bbc journalists still refer to the character as dr.who as did the original credits so it's kind of correct

I had never seen any of the second doctor's adventures until a couple of weeks ago, and for some reason Troughton's doctor had never appealed to me. But now he's possibly my favourite of all.

It is interesting to hear Peter talk about acceptance, because I can remember individual episodes of Tom Baker dating back to 1977, but I count Peter as MY Doctor on the grounds of that subtle change in personality that always happens in regeneration. Patrick I now count as probably my favourite, on the grounds that he is absolutely trustworthy in the part and made even his successor insecure.

I'm sure the BBC are quite grateful that Patrick decided not to black up and wear a turban in the end 😂

Though he did go brown as Salamander in Enemy of the World. He plays both him and the Doctor so distinctly it’s like a criminal mastermind.😏

Peter was such a cutie back then. Five will always be my favorite along with The Visitation and Caves of Androzani. Such a grim yet gripping tale.

I don't think this sort of thing was necessarily his comfort zone - he was quite a private man. He looked like he was having fun though!

@@whatsonthetapes Yes Ive seen an interview when he was on Box of Delights and being interviewed on Blue Peter he seemed the same then Pete. I never knew Patrick was a private man. Interesting to know that.

Why can I never get over the feeling that Davison is as embarrassed as hell?
@rnw2739

Because he usually is and mostly regrets playing it, but funnily enough, he doesn't mind raking in all the money from conventions, DVDs, Blurays etc...
