I live in New Orleans, but I understand that this is a national, not a local event. Also, Lil Wayne’s friends all performed at Essence Fest this year, and people who are not from New Orleans are still complaining. Ours is a specific culture. Kendrick has the biggest hit this summer. We are even partying to his music in New Orleans now. Kendrick’s a Nobel Prize winner with 17 Grammys. He’s embraced around the world. Wayne also has a wide audience base. Remember that the NFL got into this deal with Jay, because of their need to show that they are equitable and not racist. Kendrick is associated with Obama - the change- hopie guy and one of Jay’s associates along with Lebron. Wayne is associated with Trump and getting a pardon, unfortunately. Kendrick is a supreme artist. Wayne is a brilliant rapper with global music. Wayne is, like Kendrick, one of the greatest rappers ever. Jay made the better business decision. Prayerfully Wayne and Kendrick will not let this divide them, and the audience will be blessed with a joint performance.
