Joyner's take on being underrated is how I am with myself in general. And I love hearing this. More artists should think like this. Every situation is obviously different but if people focused on what they could do instead of blame others and point the finger and do nothing, just try something different. Being more visible doesn't mean selling out. Sometimes it can just be marketing. Once you get the fan base and it's growing steadily, it doesn't matter. The recognition will come. Keep at it with the amazing work and it'll come. But be open to change too.

I still remember when he was hating on Logic. Even Logic didn't understand the hate. Luckily they made up and made a song together... Or more? Either way, I haven't heard of Joyner in a minute. I understand why now. But still, funny how people hated on Logic every step of the way and he's STILL here. Still getting better and better while those who can't rap judge him. Yes the listener knows what they like but most listeners and fans are reading the lyrics, catching every bar, wordplay, double entendres, inside jokes, etc. So when people hate on him I know they haven't listened. You can not like his music but to say he can't rap or he has no good songs, it just shows the ignorance. Opinions are one thing and they're like assholes, everyone has one. But then there's facts. Eminem has spoken on this. Many times he feels only other rappers will get this raps because it takes one to understand one fully. What does a casual fan know about writing raps and how hard it can be to have triple entendres, insane wordplay, constantly changing flow, etc. There's so much that gets overlooked because they listen for 10 seconds and make up their mind. Charlemagne has always been like that with certain artists. He doesn't even bother with them yet has an opinion. Like if we watched a clip then judge him for it without ever watching full interviews and such. It is what it is. Just wish people didn't talk shit until they knew wtf they were talking about
