People hate it when Macklemore won his hip hop album award. Church folk were mad when Kanye won his gospel award. Does Don Toliver deserve a rock album of the Year award for his Rock inspired album that he made? Beyonce doesn't make usually make country music, she made a country album. Does it deserve nominations maybe I don't know, I don't like none of those songs on her album because I don't like country music so I can't say. Was racism involved in the decision probably/maybe. But it's hard for me to say because Beyonce is not part of that genre. If it was a black country artist who got snubbed this be a whole different story. TLDR... The main point is it's impossible to say someone got snubbed in a genre that they don't work in. Period... if you think Beyonce deserve album of the year in Country Music tell me who her competition was and who should have been nominated. He was completely right. Before we get up in arms, think about how we would react if a country artist just did hip hop or R&b for the first time and went to #1. We would 100% be annoyed, too. Especially if that #1 was boosted by that spot by non- hip hop or R&B listeners. The thing is, we have already got pissed by people doing it to us, and a few of those people were actually hip hop or R&B artists. Also, billboards are about numbers, not rating the albums. If you are number 1, it's because people listened to or brought you album.

I’m a new Beyonce fan, so to speak. I attended her Renaissance concert last summer. 2 hours 45 minutes of music, dancing, culture, celebration!! Outside of my first Run DMC concert where I fell in love with LL Cool J and the Beastie Boys, that show was the best concert I’ve attended ever🩶🎠She posts on her IG account and GQ has featured her in a recent interview. Artists evolve and she’s a mother now too. She’s working on businesses and the next rock themed album. She communicates using multiple modes, releasing two albums in as many years with one concert tour are two ways. I get leaving fans wanting more, I get it!! Charla 100% correct. How you gonna be upset at the lack of acknowledgement from the CMA's when you haven't heard any of the other music? You don't know if it was awards worthy by comparison. Using sales as a metric for awards success is dumb. This is BEYONCE! One of the biggest music stars in the world. She could sing the alphabet and it would outsell every other song released around that time. The VAST MAJORITY of people who bought that album dont listen to country either. They just bought it because it was Beyoncé. Did Baby Shark deserve awards? Did Gangnam Style deserve awards? Absolutely not, two of the most annoying songs I've ever heard, but they sold crazy amounts when they released. Selling records does not equate to quality & in turn does not & should not equate to awards recognition (other than the plaques they get when they cross certain 'units sold' thresholds)

At this point, Beyoncé is just expected to be rewarded just for the sake of it. She is an artist just like everybody else. I don’t care how much money she has or how big her fan is. Dolly is a legendary country artist and people want to just discount her opinion which makes no sense. She is highly regarded and not just that she is a master at country music. Cowboy Carter was indeed a specialty album is Beyoncé gonna do any more country albums? I doubt it. She made her mark. She did her thing and that’s that. Again they are country artist and they only attend CMA. They don’t go to the Grammys they don’t go to anywhere else because their country artist exclusively. Cowboy Carter went to Number 1 and was wildly popular based on Beyonce's existing popularity built on her R&B/Urban music. I Cowboy Carter had been released by a country artist it probably would not have been as popular - especially since the lead single ripped off a cartoon theme song.
