I admire how Jerrod works through the issues with his parents. I also REALLY appreciate him saying that forgiveness is not devoid of thought and logic, even in Christianity. I also believe that.
@dl2310
@dl2310 2 жыл бұрын
Thought and logic only make forgiveness more difficult and in many cases impossible. Forgiveness is an act of faith. We forgive because we have been forgiven by God himself (following repentance) because we know he sees our every move and doesn't treat us as we deserve. The only logic necessary is knowing that you too are guilty of wrong doing towards another. But certainly not spending mental energy on whether or not to forgive someone else. We all are guilty.

Jerrod spoke his truth in a way that made me so proud to see our young Black thinkers & visionaries navigate spaces!!!! He is such an intelligent and eloquent man. I LOVE TO SEE BLACK MEN SHINE!!!! For me, this interview was beyond powerful. The talk about infidelity and religion really hit home. I’m already an inquisitive person as is but it reminded me that sometimes I don’t ask enough questions. It made me realize that in order to let certain hurt go I need to truly hold certain individuals accountable, no one is untouchable. On another note, the dynamic between these two is AMAZING! The genuine, deep, intellectual, yet inspiring well-needed conversation occurred between these two. I would love to see them have a podcast or something together! I know Charlamagne always seems to carry the interview but this felt like an open conversation and not a debate or people talking over one another.

I went through so many emotions watching this interview. This was much needed for us black men to hear and see. I felt as if I were in the room with them
