When he said the way to truly love his daughter is to listen to her. I hope all Fathers heard and received that. Your kids perception of you may be different from what you thought you were to them. Or they may remember things differently..but its THEIR experience and perception of you. It's how THEY feel. Listen. Don't get defensive. Humble yourself and apologize for how you made them feel. THIS renders healing. If you get defensive and dismissive of their pain, you will never have the relationship you really want with them. That goes for mothers too. Love to all

Forgiveness is soooooooooo hard for me. Especially in my younger years. But here lately God has been showing me so much and placing situation in my face that, kind of, places forgiveness right in my face. Its still a struggle. But I cannot wait to get to this point. @@montgomerycamjr... Make sense please? Clearly I'm well aware of what was said. Words have several meanings. That's why people often say communication is better, "said than read." I meant by the average Joe. I respect people who are low key, and have been doing things in many different ways to give their own people a platform. Someone who is also giving back to their communities. I know what Common has done. I love his films. His music. His work. I also underSTOOD the type of person he is. I merely said that, once again for people who don't really know of him or what he has accomplished. AND PLEASE DON'T JUDGE A BOOK BY ITS COVER. When I get older? How condescending of you. When he talks about addiction to love, that is something I can relate to deeply. Even as a little boy in the 1st and 2nd grade I would write love letters not ever knowing who actually taught me to do that. I would obsess over girls, one at a time, thinking that I was in love and this is as a young boy. It's really deeper but I won't really explain. I was born a lover boy, like I was always searching for something.

@@melanatedwanderlust4057 I don't know what triggers it. It's like as soon as I think I really like a girl/woman then comes an obsession to love and be a great guy for her. But to a degree, with wisdom, I've learned that this "love" is actually unhealthy. It can cloud my mind and judgment for long periods of time. I've realized that you have to learn to search within and go back "home" to the place where this love began. Find out what is missing and come to terms with it.

This comment out of all the rest stood out to me brother because I myself am 23 and have struggled with this my entire life since I started messing around with girls at like 11 or 12. I saw my mother go through the most essential years of my life, specifically when my father was out of the picture, and she took a back seat to parenting. Meanwhile, i was so interested in being every woman’s savior and laying the world (or what 13 year old me thought the world was) at their feet. It developed into me cheating constantly and even destroyed the relationship I had with my firstborn child’s mother. Come full circle I found myself engulfed in the idea of love again, even after I swore up and down I “learned learned learned” the hard way, and it’s taken me longer than a decade to come face to face with this. Thank you brother this has helped me on my journey, love.
