*Someone*: Yo Kev, what it do bruh, how you doing? *Kevin Gates*: Well how you ask that question was unintelligent. Big brother you gotta express yourself in an intelligent manner because I'm an intelligent brother. These are the essence of our communities and that will help with growth. Our kids, our seeds need to know these qualities about ourselves. To the world I may appear as a thug and an unintelligent brother, but that's what I expect; as long I know I'm an intelligent brother. Your conduct as a man will determine how far you go in life, you will make mistakes but how you react and what you learn from them is what makes up your character. I can't allow someone to disrespect me and not teach them how to conduct themselves. At the end of the day we all learn from each other daily and that's what will allow us to grow as a human race. These are the qualities that I pass on to my kids, and I believe that we need these sort of behavioural conducts that will spread the positive energy. The most intelligent people you'll ever meet never went to college, some of them are wearing orange jumpsuits and are locked up in cages. Now me I'm careful how I conduct myself as a good student of intelligence, I'm loyal to my intelligence as a grown man. My wife knows that. We need to pass on these jewels to the kids, the seeds because the knowledge we have is loaned to us, it's not ours to keep, we gotta conserve the jewels and that's how we keep our sanity as a community.

Darryl Mayes the highlight was him kicking a women in the chest. Which he lied every time about. Then he said he’s a straight up dude who isn’t afraid to be wrong. He speaks about loyalty to his wife under an oath to God them speaks about laying lumber as long as his wife says it’s okay. Even though he said he don’t wear a ring because the promise was not to his wife but to God that’d he’d be loyal. Need I go on? Kevin literally said nothing. Everything was a contradiction or a lie.

And for me to hear some of the very words which were spoken to me when I was younger growing up really jogged back some good memories, so I thank you Sir. Gates for the good words.

+k ezzy Their vocabularies are small compared to Marc Lamont Hill, Cornel West, Michael Eric Dyson, and Ta-Nehisi Coates.
@datniggaezzy099 жыл бұрын
+lifestraight looks like your vocabulary needs a lil help and you would have came out better sayin dr umar or minister farrakhan or dr john henrik clarke or dr joy degruy or tariq nasheed or dr claude anderson are better speakers the guys u named are blacks puppets for the white elitists
@lifestraight9 жыл бұрын
k ezzy Not at all. Michael Eric Dyson is some what of a puppet but West and Hill can hardly be considered puppets. The people I named are far more eloquent and articulate than Dr. Umar and most certainly more eloquent than Farrakhan who isn't articulate at all and speaks as if he has a speech impediment. Dr. Dyson alone has a wider vocabulary than all of the people you named.
@datniggaezzy099 жыл бұрын
+lifestraight man look idc how eloquent somebody vocabulary is as long as theres a message to our people out here that are lost to help get out of this madness prime example muhammad ali look up some of his old interviews he was far from the best speaker but that doesnt mean he wasn't intelligent enough to debate with the intellectual so and so's of that era on what he represented im speakin from that context fam they killed off all our leaders from martin to malcom to medger evers to bunchy carters to huey newton i mean the list goes on and on today the rappers are the voice of our youth/culture and most of them are so unprepared or even care for that matter to even speak on the upliftment of our people do you even notice a sign of the times and change back then we had james brown makin music like ibaip and marvin gaye stevie wonder even the athletes like the 2 brothers that held black power fist in the olympics now look at us a bunch buffoons wit money braggin about superficial shi
@lifestraight9 жыл бұрын
k ezzy I agree with what you're saying. I was just saying that in terms of verbal eloquence those guys don't hold a candle to the names I mentioned. But truthfully that shouldn't even be the point and I'm with you that whoever is for uplifting the people and puts action and a plan behind their words has earned out support. No matter how articulate or inarticulate. I think a lot of the reason we have distanced from the Black Power era has to due with a sense of loss. After they killed our most prominent and internationally recognized leaders, our organizers, our activists, I think we became intimidated and this lead to a lot of the disarray we saw in the 80s and 90s. A book I am reading now that I would recommend to you is called The Truly Disadvantaged by Julius Wilson which discusses HOW and WHY rate of unemployment, welfare dependency, single parent homes, and violent crime skyrocketed in underprivileged communities of color starting around the late 70s I believe leading into the 80s and 90s. So often people misread the symptoms of institutionalized racism and historical racism as the cause for our condition when they are really the response to the bigger disease of economic exclusion, social isolation, resource deprivation, and marginalization rooted in racism and capitalism.
