I just love the chef judges for Canada. Chef Michael always speaks in a kind soothing way, whether it's describing food or giving criticism. Chef Alvin is like an Asian uncle. Beside his outburst back in season 1 about the croquettes, he always give encouraging vibes but also has to be stern when needed to be. Chef Claudio is brutally honest but at least he seems to have a better way of critiquing ppls dish and help them improve.

For my overeasy eggs I add a teaspoon of water at the end and place a smaller lid over top to hold in the steam. That hot steam finishes off the top white of the egg and makes it easier to flip for that 4 seconds before sliding it onto the plate. Perfection each time.

Yes muffins are not traditional in full english breakfast, the authentic English breakfast should have fried bread but muffins are traditionally served with eggs Benedict as you said with bacon, ham, smoked salmon, spinach and Hollandaise sauce… as for bolo inglês the English calls it madeira cake and it’s also popular more likely on a afternoon tea ☕️

I always wonder how they judge eggs, cus it’s one of those things that it’s eaten different all around the globe, some people would make sure the yolk hardens all the way, some leave it on a more liquid state, even I sometimes prefer it different ways, so I was genuinely puzzled when he told her that her egg was a bit on the over side, for me that’s perfectly fine and in my country that would actually be considered undercooked since we tend to harden the yolk and burn the edges of the egg a little bit for that crunchy bite.

It's kind of funny reading the comments saying that in different countries they like their eggs a certain way. In America everyone likes them all different ways. You get to choose what you want at a restaurant.

It's because the purpose of the contest isn't to make what the contestants think taste best (That'd be way too subjective), it's to apply one simple rubric to apply to every contestant, that way it's much easier to judge

Seeing another countries take on "An English Breakfast" is an eye opener. Blood sausage? Well maybe sometimes. English muffin? Never. Baked beans? Controversial! English sausage? Why is it missing? Toast or fried bread? Also missing? Streaky bacon? Hardly ever. Whatever else you call it traditional it isn't.
@ForumCat
@ForumCat 3 жыл бұрын
@ScouseCal Ah, you young people. Baked beans are a new addition. 1895 they arrived and then were slowly adopted. Us traditionalists still consider them to be rather "new fangled". 🍳🎩
