Yeah you could see that in Kelly's face when Ozone tell her "you see his face, that's dancing Kelly" Remember how emotional that scene was seeing the breakdancer so happy doing what he does and being appreciated regardless of his disability.

Aside from his crutches obviously, he hides his handicap so well. By watching this clip, you would think that the crutches are just a prop he’s using. I remember watching this part for the first time back when the movie first came out (yes I’m that old) and thought that bboy was one of the best I’ve ever seen. The only question I had back then was why wasn’t he in more movies.

00:18 Kelly was unable to simply follow Ozone to this dance spot so he had to hold her by the arm as they walked there.
@SuperBookMonkey5 жыл бұрын
Tweekend27 I noticed that also. Felt it was a bit demeaning/controlling. When I see dudes full their girls by the arm and the girl just follows...makes me both mad and sad.
@Tweekend274 жыл бұрын
SuperBookMonkey I guess the director wanted us to know that Ozone is purposely bringing Kelly here for a reason as opposed to the two of them just passing by the area. It reminds me of a dad marching his daughter to someone so she can apologize. Lol

He was trying to get his point across to Kelly. She saw dancing as a job, hard work. Ozone, Turbo, Handyman and the rest of the breakdancers see dancing as an art that you should love to do, not have to do. Dancing shouldn’t be a job, it should be an activity.

Little sister, that is a comment not to patronise you, I’m glad you know these classics, The guy on crutches resembles 2 guys from Beat Street, Sadly both have passed away Glidemaster Beat st ( handspin into superhero backspin in the film ) New York City Breaker, sadly passed away 1986/7 motorcycle crash Kuriaki Bronx Bomber ( little Una with the footwork, Windmill flicks end up on his head ) Rock Steady Crew, sadly murdrered along with Buck 4 the Turtle Master Both gangland/ Mafioso killings - 😞 They live on in their breakin on so many films / vids Once a breaker, always a breaker BREAKDANCE IS WHERE ITS AT, among the SHADOWS OF THE NIGHT, Kuriaki & Buck4 appear at the Roxy as Lisa Fischer is singing ONLY LOVE (SHADOWS) RIP breaker bros ❤️😘

No, the guy here is Mexican and his name is Eddy Handyman Rodriguez from CA..Your probably confusing him most Lorenzo soto aka Kuriaki, he was Puerto Rican, from NY, and was killed for involvement in drugs
